It’s definitely a great experience that you will have. We just came back from there last month and it was still amazing. However, it’s quickly becoming popular. So, expect more crowds.
I Prefer Singapore Airlines instead of Qantas for A380s! And my most favorite A380 airline is Emirates! I also prefer Emirates Instead of British Airways for A380s!

I have yet to fly in Economy with United on this route. So, I can’t say. But I’m sure you have and are comparing based on your experience. Overall, it wasn’t a bad flight.

Thank you for your video. I actually thought the food looks really good for airline food. I have a question for you. Was the inside of the plane hot? I was on a flight from Phoenix to Chicago one time and one of the air conditioning units went out during flight. They didn’t land the plane but continued on to our destination with an overwhelming hot interior. Every flight I have taken since then I have been terrified that it will be hot in the cabin. I might be going to Zurich soon so I wanted to know.
Thank you for your comment and question. On this particular flight, the temperature was well regulated. Also, there were individual air vents that you could use if you get hot or cold (depending on the season of your travel/flight).
Hi, We usually leverage points to book high end hotels. But on this particular hotel, we paid using cash. It was in the pricier end, but this was a hotel that we have wanted to stay for a while.
It was not that hard as Japanese locals don’t really talk. Most people spoke a phrase or two in English. We also used Google translate when it was deemed necessary.
One piece of small advice: I wouldn’t really recommend using Google translate for Japanese, especially because it’s a super complex language, and Google translate well…often says incorrect phrases. Not saying you can’t, but I wouldn’t recommend it. (I speak Japanese btw)
Thanks for this video. Great content. I have a question for you. You were able to upgrade from a full fare economy ticket to business after you had bought your round trip ticket? Or was the upgrade from premium economy? I’m planning my trip from PHL to FCO and would love to fly premium economy or business and trying to decide which fare I should book and if I could maybe get an upgrade right after booking. Thanks!
Thank you for your kind comments and questions. I was able to upgrade after booking my fare. It was a full economy fare and not Basic Economy as that rate/fare is not eligible for upgrade. Once I finished booking from the app, the upgrade option showed up and I jumped on the opportunity. I couldn’t upgrade my first leg to Business as it was not available, so I upgraded to Premium Economy.
Thank you very much for this video! JAL provides good leg room for economy but I still prefer ANA for the food. JAL is just the typical airline food. I couldn't believe how good the food was on ANA economy until I flew via ANA in 2012 when I traveled to Japan for the first time. But this coming November trip is for him, not for me, so I will let him choose which carrier he wants. Again, thank you for this!
I have not made that observation in economy class, as I have yet to fly economy on ANA, But I can tell you that your observation is correct when it comes to food in Business class. Much better experience on ANA. Hope you enjoy your trip in November.
It really depends on what you’re looking for in the flight. Food and service might be similar. Space, you have for sure more space in Business Class and then you have the lay flat bed. But if they are not deal breaker, premium Economy is where is at and the prices is also lower.

Tip anyone that provides service, like cleaners, baggage handlers, servers, etc. if they are providing great services tip them well. They really don’t get paid much, so, $1-$5 goes along way for them.
It depends on the flight and the amount of seats available on that flight in premium cabin. Also, the type of the original ticket and whether it is available for upgrade. If it’s purchased through the third party, it will not be eligible for upgrade.
