Since I’m an American and I have the right to manufacture a firearm, I’m thinking I could probably take it to a gunsmith and get it into working condition so I could use it to fire blanks?
You don’t want to give away any secrets? Who do you think you are? You look about 10 years old most people in the collection community know how to age Helmets and everybody in the reenacting hobby could do a much better job so get yourself a life little boy.
7 years late but just wanted to say, nothing some files, epoxy and leverage can't fix! Would be nice though if they took some pride in the product or even looked it over. But still much cheaper than deactivated.
I used cheaper spray paint without a primer coat for that, together with making some scratches all the way down to bare metal so it can oxidize easier / faster :)
Thanks! And for the decals if you want to keep the decals and aging as “original” as possible i’d reccomend Just going a little easy on those spots, not brush them to hard and dont try to clean them as much, basically Just being a bit carefull around them when you weather / clean the helmet👍
Thanks for the great review, this saves me some frustration. I already got a Denix StG44 for a cosplay and it's fine for that purpose. Recently I inherited a sizable collection of blades (swords and knives), among them an original Kar98 bayonet, and I was considering adding a Denix replica to display with it (hanging the rifle on the wall with the bayonet mounted). I guess I can still do this, but hang the bayonet below the rifle, not fixed to it.
So it seems like the cleaning rod is out for your rifle so might so does the bayonet finally fit into the rifle. Or if it doesn't would it be possible to change the bayonet lug at the first place
Yessiiir! And yeah..ive heard stories from my grandparents over the years about the stuff they would find (and subsequently scrap) in the years after the war, if i had a time machine i’d sure as hell would know where i’m going😅
The intro is really great. The music and the WW2 footage. Good work mate Also that footage of the bombers/fighters with the contrails at 0:56, can you please tell me where that’s from? Thanks
Todo esto está muy bien chaval yo también tengo un M-1Garand de denix .pero sabe tu papá que andas jugando a los soldados? La guerra no es un juego te lo aseguro.
It’s funny on how people only focus on the M35 helmet and if you were to wear one they, ( the public ) probably call you a N*s* but you wear this helmet and most people won’t even take a second bat an eye. ( just a thought )
