Thanks for posting this. Still brings tears to my eyes. Unfortunately, another bad decision made at WDW in the past few years. This show was Disney at its creative best.
We flew down to see the final two performances😢 The final night, it started raining about 30 minutes before showtime. Nobody left, and then, the rain stopped. So miss Illuminations💔
It was perfect! So much better than the stuff they have today. The parade that went with it in the daytime was also the best! They need to get back to this sort of entertainment. My kids grew up to this and will never forget it!
I cried watching this. This show was my childhood, having seen it a dozen times with my parents. I'm sad I won't get the chance to see it with my son when we go this fall.
Omg this was perfect. The first time I saw it, I was coming from a restaurant in Italy and ended up looking up right at the finale from a light pole. It’s a core memory for me. God I miss illuminations
I have memories of being absolutely AMAZED by this show, so I got curious and had to look this up. I live in Orlando and saw the past 2 Epcot shows. This one is definitely the best. Better music. The lights on the buildings going with the music. More fireworks. The Lazer designs. SO much better! Epcot needs to bring this back. Or at least bring these elements back. I saw the new show the other day. What they have now is nowhere near as good. Not even close.
Did anyone noticed that when it went from the 2nd scene to the 3rd scene... that one of the lights above him was burned out in the 2nd scene!!! I have never been on the Carousel of Progress, but after watching a few clips from it... it looks fun and maybe someday I will go on it!!!
r.i.p Illuminations Reflections of Earth 1999-2019 i remember seen the final performance at the Epcot on January 2019 we got perfect view to see it, and it was good
The only time I've been to Disney World was December of 2007. It was a trip my parents had planned for us to go in April of 2006 but, unfortunately, my mother passed from cancer that year. My mother loved fireworks and Disney and couldn't wait to take us there. This became my absolute favorite nighttime spectacular of all time, from the visuals, to the music. I didn't get to see it close sadly. I'm so glad I found your video. Thank you for posting it!
Thanks for getting two minutes and 30 seconds of the props being moved to the middle of the lake during the day. People usually don’t see you that which makes it rare to see thanks again!
Thank you. I tried to get a little of everything. I have great memories of sitting down watching it with my daughter and frustrated of the bridge making my late to dinner :)
I’ve seen hundreds of videos of Illuminations (and filmed quite a few myself), but this is by far the best one out there. It’s the definitive version. During the Celebration segment of the show (around 12:30 in this video), I wish Disney had kept those shrieking sidewinder fireworks. I think they got rid of them around 2014 for some reason.
This is by far my favorite ride in all of WDW; that's right, I said it. With all the talk of progress, and looking to the future, I always get so excited; not to mention the song is incredibly catchy. I hope it stays active in Tomorrowland forever, especially since Walt had a big hand in making the COP. One day, when I can get through my sever anxiety, I hope to go to the park and watch the show in person again.
I don't know why, but I just teared up just now. I am so happy to hear about the new costumes in the final scene. I've wanted an update for years -- a complete overhaul, new animatronics and everything, tbh -- but at least it's start in that direction. Or, shall we say? Progress? *boom boom tiss* 😝
although i'm a fan of the carousel of progress i grew up with at disneyland, the disney world version is slowly growing on me. at first the changes in the main characters voice, and some of the dialogue were totally annoying, now they're reasonably tolerable. it only took 45 years or so. i just wish we had a video record of the original as good as this one. great job!
I will greatly miss this show it is so much better than the new one. Illuminations was the show I have seen since our first trip when sister was in a stroller & we have seen everyone we have gone since. Illuminations had original songs made just for the sow you could hear anywhere else.
