This SOUNDS great. Unfortunately, you can't really get excited about new battery cell technologies until AFTER a few 3rd independent battery testers thoroughly test the batteries that are taken out of an IN PRODUCTION new electric vehicle. There's about 8-10 important factors in the battery "spider chart" that EV customers need to know when in comes to batteries. There's often upsides and downsides to new battery technologies. Hopefully artificial intelligence technologies are being used so that new battery chemistries can be discovered faster and then tested faster. I hear it often takes like FIVE+ YEARS of testing before the new batteries make it onto the market.
Clickbait title. There is no Tesla announcement about the use of Sodium ion batteries now and the whole video content is generated general battery tech with automated voice. 🚮
I am a little disappointed in the $32,000 starting point when he has said all along that it would be around $25,000. In your video you also said that it would be about half the cost of an M3. The M3 is $40,000 so it should be around $20,000 not $32,000. I’m really disappointed if that is the case. Remember, not everyone can qualify for the $7500 point of sale credit.
It’s intriguing how Tesla continues to push boundaries with battery technology, but are they focusing too much on batteries at the expense of other features?
