Hi there ! I was wondering how this Olympus camera with the 12-40mm performe at night time photography, like walking in the city and taking shots ! Since you have experience with it ☺️ Thanks
Bit late seeing your video but if you want to put a filter on it you need to use an adapter ring. Just buy a normal front plastic cap of the corresponding size and you are good to go.
@AllieB! Wow! Thank you, and congratulations for sharing so many deets (details)! You gave a masterclass in what adult ballet is, and is NOT, about! Id really like to have a written transcript of what you shared here. You have plenty of courage, and you're a grown woman, and you're a multi talented person. Really hope you'll keep going forward with your learning, including ballet (if you want to continue ballet), but also whatever else you'd like to pursue. Thanks so much, again! 👍🏽
What kind of camera do you use? I noticed that you use portrait mode instead of landscape mode. Is there a reason for that? Perhaps you’re using your iPhone for that. But in a short, I see three cameras in the background! Which one is your favorite for RU-vid?
Oh man haha I have a loooot of cameras. Even more now that I do photography professionally. I generally prefer horizontal photos and videos because I’m more likely to use them for other social media. I really only use landscape for RU-vid specific videos. For like filming in class I always just used my phone and connected my watch so that I can start and stop recording as I needed. It’s too hard to set up a camera and have it record when I wanted. But outside of class I currently use Fujifilm and Canon cameras (Fuji is my compact and more for everyday and fun cameras but they still produce amazing images!) and Canon I really only use for my paid gigs now. For filming for RU-vid I usually use either my canon g7x or one of my larger canons since they all have a flip screen to see myself in frame.
Thank you so much for this video <33 I want to start pointe in the near future (I’m beginner to intermediate teenager dance) and I’ve been so scared be unable to do pointe due to my low arch. I feel like all the fittings I find here on RU-vid are of girls with crazy good arches so I felt weird about it. This really helped and it really goes to show how pretty and strong feet look even without banana feet. Keep it up!!
Hi Allie, I struggled for years with flat feet and bunions as an adult ballet dancer. It was terrible back in the 90's. Just wondering what type of pointeshoes ended up working for you? Do you have any suggestions as to what I could try for starters if I want to try pointe again?
I absolutely hate the organizers in my neverfulls especially. Makes them look boxy and makes mine extremely extremely heavy. They are okay in a speedy because a speedy is boxy.
hi!! do you mind sharing what pointe shoes these are?? they look so so good on you, and i also have low arches, and am looking for new shoes, so it would be super helpful to know which shoes these are:)
It mostly just to help with the new style bending the arches in a place that is better for my feet. I usually just get the shoe wet at the arch (and maybe demi pointe) then while wearing the shoes to help them mold to my feet just using a hair dryer to help dry them that way
I'm feeling the same way of missing ballet for months of not doing anything ballet related. Been reading a lot during summer completely out of shape. Yeah definitely need the motivation now.
I'm having the same problem as you- Lyra's feel almost the same as the Europas. I'm SO SAD because the USA Gaynor's were the best shoe I've ever had :(
I’ve been trepidatious to try the Lyra, as the Europeans completely broke my heart & all hope: huge business-model readymade & available to the US manufacturing industry: make a pointe shoe like our original U.S. manufactured Gaynor Mindens. This tragic misstep for the company has changed the lives of dancers, or even ended careers. I’m forever sad about this. 🥺😢 🩰🪦- R.I.P. the true Gaynors. I’m so happy you still have some of your US made / “O.G.’s” (original Gaynors) Thank you for the gorgeous demo as always: Allie! You look extra-super lovely lately & I love your updated new ballet studio (new floors, etc.) 🫶🥰
I’m guessing it would be the same as the new ones. I know most people have to change sizes from the American ones but I only had to change the shank color for mine. 😅 sorry I’m not as helpful there
