At 3:53 you have help text to the left of the exposure meter icons, I don't have that on my S9. I've looked thinking it's a setting to turn on, but don't see it, do you know where it is. Excellent tips by the way. :)
Great video mate! This is exactly how i'll be using Aperture Priority mody on my s5ii 👌🏻. As someone who has historically always shot in Manual mode because I predominantly shoot landscapes, it's nice to let the camera do the heavy lifting once in a while! Especially for those really dynamic day-to-day scenes! Great tips man!
don't you think that the Panasonic 14-28 has a black hole in the shadows? I say based on the RU-vid video. Since now I have to choose what buy Lumix 14-28 or Sigma 16-28.
Leica and Panasonic have had a long standing partnership. This has the same or very similar optical design as the Leica Summicron 50mm f2.0 SL. The Lumix is a 9 element/8 group lens containing 3 aspherical elements, 1 extra dispersion element, and 1 ultra high reflexive element. The Summicron for the L-system is a 9/8, 3 aspherical design but on their website they use more ambiguous language about other "special elements" (not a direct quote but similar language). The cut-out illustrations on both the Leica and Panasonic sites show an identical optical layout. Both have 9 aperture blades. Both weather sealed. Both look outwardly nearly identical, both are 67mm filter threads There are, however, differences -- the Leica lens barrel is metal, the Panny is plastic. The Leica does not have an AF/M switch. Other than that? Given the longstanding partnership between Leica and Panasonic, with Panasonic releasing digital cameras and Leica releasing nearly identical cameras during the digicam heyday, this is not terribly surprising. A RU-vidr made a comparison between the two lenses and found the rendering to be similar with the Leica ever so slightly edging out the Panasonic in the extreme edges and flare resistance in harsh lighting.
Great video mate! Good effort with the outdoor filming, I know the struggles all too well at the moment - would love to actually finish a video out in the field! 😂 UK weather is a joke! Really resonate with the points you make in this video! Context is everything when it comes to spec, as you say, it all depends on what you want to use the camera for! It's like the S5ii, a camera i'm 99% sure i'm going to buy but I was initially hesitant because of the lower megapixel count compared to other brands. But it's a camera i'd be excited to shoot on and that will hopefully help me create more photos i'm happy with! These specs aren't going to be something i'm thinking about when i'm actually using the camera. I think people put too much emphasis on the camera in the photography process when really it's just a small part of the process - composition, a good idea, a well-executed edit are all far more important than the camera imo.
It's literally been the worst summer ever! 😂 Exactly mate you don't think about them at all when you're shooting. That being said I would love Lumix to release a higher megapixel camera aimed more towards photography but it's not essential by any means. 24mp is more than enough for most things. Like you say the camera is just one part of the whole thing, lighting, composition and all those other things are arguably more important. Thanks for watching mate!
I just bought a lower megapixel camera when I could have afforded the higher megapixel model. When I looked at photos online from both cameras, the lower mp shooters took beautiful shots AND they looked like they were having more fun. Maybe they weren’t taking themselves so seriously. So I rented both cameras. I like detail, and the idea of printing big, so I wanted to pit the two cameras against each other in those categories. I look a picture of a fire hydrant with both cameras, resized both of them up to the same size, and compared them at 400%. The difference in detail was not enough for me to care about. The lower mp model had some automation that I liked, so I bought that one. I’m eager to get out there and see if I can make some images that show the fun that I have with taking pictures and still have all the detail that I love seeing in a print.

Say this more often, so Panasonic could make MFT for 4000 USD and call it better than full frame.....say this often too so iPhone could charge 2000 USD for 1 inch sensor 😂😂😂😂
Panasonic cameras all have thousands of partially hot pixels but they will not show up unless you do long exposures at high ISO. I've used other manufacturers and never had this issue. It's a major problem if you need high ISO long exposure.
