We live in the Highlands of Scotland and love travelling in our campervan. We decided to make videos for our memories, but also because we hope our children and grand children will be able to travel in the future. Essentially, these are our home movies.

We just bought cv 40 last week so learning how you manage all fun down size from 7.4 so big change I think it will give us more freedom👍🍷

Their great vans😀 We always felt that 6m was ideal for us, mainly because it let us easily access the tight little sites we found in Europe when we were motorcycle touring. I think I’ve said this before, but we did look at a rival van which seemed roomier inside. Luckily I realised that it was because the rival vans overhead lockers were much narrower. I think the CV40 is much better for extended trips😀

Thanks Allan and Linda😃 We don't need all climate tyres😃. We're going over the Susten pass in September (about the same time as previous trips). The odd thing about the pass is that the forecast can be sub zero, but when you get to the top it's 16degc, the snow is deep but they keep the road perfectly clear😃. It is closed for a lot of the year though. Cheers, Brian and Rhona😃

Great to see you two back. Looking forward to your planning tips and trip vlogs. We're off in Sep for 2 weeks so I'd best get planning. With just 2weeks we're reluctant to be too firm in our plans in case the weather is rubbish. Our main aim is to see the Rhone glacier ice grotto. If the southern weather is rubbish we'll head north or west so I think we need 3 plans. Safe travels.

Excellent - just home from our trip down to Croatia and stayed in Venice on way back up on the lagoon pitches. Only managed 3 hours in Venice tho - ridiculous amount of people and heat 😢.. another time maybe😂
@RobbotheHighlander
@RobbotheHighlander Месяц назад
Hi Leanne😀 Yeah, I think about 3hrs is our average as well😀. In early and out early. We’d stayed at Fusina twice before when we were motorcycle touring. Both times in the old cabins they used to have, normally because our tent had been soaked in Slovenia😀 Last time with the campervan I think the Fusina/Venice bit was the part we were least looking forward too. We only booked a lakeside pitch because the main campsite looked a bit of a free for all on the earlier trips. It was nothing but a transit really, but it turned out to be a highlight of the trip😀. Cheers, Brian and Rhona😀

@RobbotheHighlander Месяц назад
Thanks Ruth😀 Making videos is the strangest thing we’ve ever done😀. It’s totally out of character for us. We honestly thought they would lurk virtually unwatched for 10 or 20 years, and then we would tell the family they existed. The first one was public because we thought that if you want extended family to see them they had better be easy to access (which is why they were on RU-vid to start with). We thought public/private was a one off choice at publishing and you couldn’t change it! It’s lovely to hear they have some worth, so thanks for that😀 Cheers, Brian and Rhona😀

Great video Guys. For years we used camping Los Gallardos in Mojacar. 260 euros a month but problem wzs it was 13km back from coast or town with no bus service. What area of Italy are yo planning to visit. We live in Glasgow and going Hull to Rotterdam 2nd of June through Germany and Austria to lake Garda.

Thanks Jim😃 Yeah, there's a campsite along from where we were which was 10 euros a night. It's a much longer trip to the town, and the electricity is on a generator which goes off for part of the day. It's just getting the balance of what's right for you I think😃. We're going down to Peschiera del Garda. We like it because it's busy with lots of Italians😃. Of course give it a few days and we'll be moaning it's too busy😃 Cheers, Brian and Rhona😃

Thank you😃 In Winter it is mostly older people so it's a lot quieter. For example we've been to Benidorm in January and May and it's like two different places. In January it's much more chilled but still lively enough to be fun😃 On the quiet parts of Spain we tend to go now, everyone is normally tucked up by dark😃 The pitches tend to be right next to each other, but on an international site in Winter you are camped with people from all over Europe (especially people from the Netherlands and Germany). In our experience they have all been great campers and very respectful of other peoples space, peace and privacy. We also feel we learn something from camping beside people from other countries. This year, Holland, Germany, Austria, Lithuania etc. Other years Estonians and Italians as well. I also think the quieter sites come down harder on people who disturb other campers. Everyone's on the site because it is quiet😃 I think I can say that we would consider everyone we have camped beside as friends 😃 Cheers, Brian and Rhona😃
