Great video. I am trying to do the same fix on my 2005 Bmw 745Li. My question is did you put any type os sealant on your intake manifold gasket? And did the collapseable water pipe wored with no leaks?
I've got to do this on my 2013 E71 M sport X6 and I trying to see what transfer case I have if I have both a drain and fill plug or just one and have to suction out the old fluid. So glad to see more of us women sharing our car love on here!
back seal doesn't leak , it can not leak its just stop metal to metal then rear panel gasket takes over between engine and gearbox, love the 7 series but they always spring leaks lol
Suggestion - loosen the water pump pulley bolts before you remove the belt. The belt holds the pulley in place so you can easily loosen the pulley bolts.
Yes, I had to reset it in order to get the suspension working again. A little known fact is if you have a service code on your transfer case, your suspension code won't clear.
You are really wonderful and you deserve respect and support, madam. Continue and you have all the appreciation and thanks for the information and effort 🙂
Hope you dont blowout your back coolant pan between engine/trans! That always happens after this job.....then you have to remove the transmission for that one! Gotta love N62!
I would like comment , I just completed 1 of these, bought on amazon(the exact kit used in video), recommend to clean the coating off the end that has the 3 O rings(this side only) as when using something to press the shaft into the timing cover end the coating kinda seized the pieces together, had to remove it and wire wheel(lightly) the end and apply a little grease-tried grease first and did not work. this was a great help ! as well was you video!
Yes we did! Actually it was required when I did the air suspension, because the air suspension code will not clear unless you recalibrate the maintenance code for the transfer case. Note: if you have any pending maintenance code in the system for the transfer case, your suspension will not clear.
@@nickycarz1663 I have the ride height inactive and would like to know how to reset all that stuff since I’m planning to do a transfer case fluid replacement
@@freddieruger1 The suspension code will not reset if you have a pending code on the transfer case or the transmission. To clear any pending codes on the transfer case, or the transmission, you will need a scanner that does BMW specific functions. Either ISTA or INPA should be able to clear the codes for you. If you can’t access a scanner, you either have to go to an Independent shop that has one or BMW themselves. There is no easy answer.
Hi Nicky Carz Really loved this video on the detailed instructions on how you guys did the process of changing the coolant pipe. Although it is a big job I don't think I ever seen a engine valley so clean (albeit the result of leaking coolant) I have a N73 V12 which I believe is near identical process to change as the V8 models and will be heeding to your videos for guidance. Thank you!!!
There is a pipe between the banks of cylinders and the seals can go, if it's the front there's a fix but it's a bit of a bodge in my opinion, if it's the rear end there's a bit of stripping down to do but nothing too difficult really 👍👍👍
When you change the oil in transfer case on BMW you should do the recalibration. I did it with ISTA+ (Rheingold software). I am not sure if any other software can do it. If you dont have it just go to a BMW dealer and tel them to do that. If you just keep on doing oil changes without reset, eventually you will get an error stored in the car which will not be removed after clearing all errors. You have to do the recalibration. Process is about 10-20 seconds.
I knew it was the tube because of it leaking through the weep hole. If you have fog from the exhaust I would say that is the valve stem seals (that is a big job).
Only if the seal is bad in the front for the Bimmerfix. The seal in the back wears out too🤔 so I'll change the coolant transfer pipe 😊 kill 2 birds with one stone😉
If you have any excess amount coming out of your weep hole (small hole by water pump) then you might as well get the coolant out while you are in there replacing the pipe. Change the valley pan too. Use OEM.
Hi, i have to do the pipe repair bimmerfix dont work still leaking, but im living in iceland and my car is outside so i am wathing for summer to do the same jobe you dit, thanks for the wery good video info
Good plan! It's important to do the work in a comfortable environment, because you are going to need all your patience when doing this job! LOL! I wish you luck when it comes time for you to do the work.
