I did mine and never took the deck out. Much easier and those guards can js be loosened up. Not removed. And I didn't take my spindle cover off either I just lifted it up and took the old one off. Some idiot i bought mine from routed the belt wrong and it wouldn't get tight enough to engage. It js slipped. But this did help me so thanks. Think maybe he took the deck completely out js so u could see everything better
This was the best review if this mower I've ever seen .... Outstanding explanation of the features and it makes you want to go out and get one. Well done sir!
There is a place for 2 lines on my spool. Plus the hole in my spindle doesn't go all the way through. Perhaps there are various models of the FS 56 RC?
Well done and very helpful....inherited '19 350 with only 45 hours...but belt has a couple cracks and will probably change it. I plan to order my parts (belt and filters) from SunSouth rather my local (used to be 5 minutes, but closed shop and now 30 minutes away) dealer. Although I live "way up north" in Chicago boonies, I'm ordering from you due to your "helpful" nature. I recently stopped at the local dealer and none of the three guys at counter appeared to want offer help....and I was the only customer in the store. Little or no greeting....guy who waited on me acted as if he couldn't care less about my purchase (as if I was a bother.) Due to your video, I'm ordering from your shop. I know it isn't a big deal, but every little bit helps the bottom line. Thanks again, SM
This did not work at all, 100% failure. The key is: Do Not take off the head, leave everything just the way you bought the unit. Now, turn the unit on its side and look at the bottom of the cord hold, you will see a line (small gap) side to side of the bottom, now look at the outside ring, you will see arrow heads, align the gap with the arrows, stick and gentle push your cord through the head. When the cord is through, align the ends, using your Palm twist the take up, trim ends if needed, crank unit and weed wack.
Thank you for the precise directions. You saved my husband a trip to the dealer since the instructions included where of no help. Have a wonderful day and thanks again!l
Is this a joke???? Just pull the three pins and slide the deck out (don't forget the fan belt on the motor side). rest it sideways on the mower and change the blades. I would never recommend jacking up a mower and working underneath it (if you even have the ability to raise it high enough).
@@simnope8632 Ya I called it a fan belt. If you like, drive belt. Guess you missed the rest of the safety and built in features the mower already has to make this a real easy way to change blades. I'm sure your comment helped a lot of people.
@@rickrolled9938 Sorry, I first tried his method for a different reason. Maybe it's because I have weights in the front, and some add on features but picking it up and putting it up on jackstands was going to be something I couldn't do by myself (for this old guy anyways). A jack wasn't working due to no safe jack points. Could I rig it up and make it work...maybe. Then I thought, do I really want to crawl under this thing on my back. Maybe my John Deere zero turn is different. It literally has 3 cotter pins to remove to slide the deck out to change the blades (and clean). It was super simple and light weight and designed for it. But, hey, you do you. Just my experience.
@@marc_svsengineering4319 i changed my deere zero turn and it only took two pins to take it off, so I did take it off, but that's cause I don't have a jack or anything to lift it. I like lifting it more it's easier
Der Hauptunterschied zwischen 6E Serie und 6M Serie ist: 6E Blockbsuweise - 6M Rahmenbauweise. 6E hat die Kabiene der 5ER Serie. Und natürlich der Preis.
Awesome video. The manual was not very useful for this belt install but this video was very clear. I also greatly appreciate that John Deere engineered the deck and mower with repairs in mind... have you heard the story that some Jaguar's require the engine to be dropped to change a spark plug? Not this system. Keep making videos like this and I will continue to be a loyal Deere customer.
I'm finally getting the hang of this! I have to be reminded by your video every time, but it is so clear and I have it saved. I think I have been trying to push the spool in too far and found out that it doesn't take as much strength as I thought to push it in just a bit and it turns easier. Maybe this will help another old lady. I managed to get a full 20' on this time. You are a great help!!!
