Lol, as an ethnic minority from the philippines, i couldn't agree more. I can't stand the severe prejudice & discrimination i struggle with everyday in this country..
A lot of fans praise Attack On Fatherland for its excellent story-telling, but I feel like it did great in season one and then kinda fell off after the first eps of season two Yes, Hitler in season one gave us some of the most memorable arcs and moments in anime history, from the holocaust arc to the ongoing rivalry between Hitler and Mussolini, to the absolutely fantastic Stalingrad arc, which showed us a more vulnerable side to Hitler towards the end. However, the writers really botched Hitler in season two. First off, yes, the first episode of season two, which was essentially an epilogue to the Stalingrad arc, was amazing. But after that, Hitler was shelved so badly and its almost like Hirohito and Mussolini became the headlining characters. I get that something as ambitious as the Hiroshima arc needs a lot of build up, and when you're limited to 20 episodes per season, things have to be placed on priority over others, but the season's treatment of Hitler was abysmal. I mean, the Japanese and Italians basically became the main antagonists, while Hitler was relegated to cameos and very brief appearances and a few after credit cameos. And then there was his death. My God, even Hitler stans admit his death was so poorly executed. After a whole season of practically no appearances, Hitler just shows up three episodes from the finale and kills himself. It was so badly done and there was pretty much no reason for it. All they needed to do was give a few appearances, maybe even just one small arc to Hitler in this season and then give him the climactic send off. But no, he just offs himself with absolutely no build up. Thank God the Hiroshima arc was an amazing finale to the series, because Hitler was such a disappointment in the end. He was all build up and no payoff.

SPOILER ALERT: The ending was depressing. You literally cant watch the anime again without feeling the same thing you did when you first watched it. Just knowing that the US will do something unexpected like drop two fucking bombs on Japan. Then the disturbing imagery of the skin and flesh being melted off those people. If you watch the first episode again, you cant enjoy it without thinking about the bomb blooming into a mushroom. Then afterwards, those Japanese politicians just signing the treaty. Like 100,000 people didnt sublimate from the heat and radiation. I literally will never find another anime that will give me the same feeling as WW2 did.
