Stupid Nazi, I'd take you to Oradour sur Glane or Lidice. I'd make you look at those ghost towns to make you understand what you did. But you wouldn't understand it even in a century.

I can provide you with a general perspective on what a German soldier might have spoken about concerning World War II. It is important to note that individual experiences and opinions varied greatly among German soldiers, and this response is a fictional account based on historical context. A German soldier might have spoken about the war in terms of duty and patriotism. They might have believed they were fighting to protect their country and preserve their way of life. They might have emphasized the need to defend against perceived threats from other countries or ideologies. They may have discussed the initial successes of the German military, such as the swift invasions of Poland, Denmark, Norway, the Low Countries, and France. They might have mentioned the perceived superiority of the German military tactics and technologies during these early stages of the war. However, as the war progressed, they may have spoken about the challenges and difficulties they faced. They might have talked about the harsh conditions on the Eastern Front, where German forces clashed with the Soviet Union. They might have mentioned the vastness of the Soviet territory, the brutal winters, and the fierce resistance they encountered. Some German soldiers might have expressed disillusionment and horror at the atrocities committed by the Nazi regime, such as the Holocaust and other war crimes. Others may have been aware of these acts but chose to turn a blind eye or justify their actions as necessary for the war effort. Towards the end of the war, a German soldier might have spoken about the sense of impending defeat. They might have discussed the Allied advances on multiple fronts, the bombings of German cities, and the scarcity of resources. They may have expressed frustration with the leadership of Adolf Hitler and the impact of his decisions on the outcome of the war. It is important to remember that these perspectives are fictional and represent a range of potential viewpoints. The experiences and opinions of German soldiers during World War II were diverse and shaped by various factors, including personal beliefs, rank, and the specific theaters of war they were involved in.
This shows very well that in war it does not matter who fights, dies, wins or loses. Soldiers fight against soldiers although they do not know each other and do not hate each other. At the end it is always only people who let their lives for the world views of crazy and greedy politicians. No matter if WW1/2, Vietnam, Korea, Iraq or other wars. In the end only suffering, misery and a grieving family remains.
these men were just honorable warriors serving an eventual lost cause. no different from the confederate troops of America, and the Germans at least didn't kill their own people!
I haven't a clue if this kind man is or isn't with us these days, but he seems like a genuine kind man who had no care for Hitlers regime. This man just looks dapper still even in this interview, with the same well kept hair. He just told his side of the story, and is very bright for being like 80 in this?? He was just serving his country and protecting his loved ones, much like us Americans were doing. All of it was littered in propaganda though, sadly. Love that he's retained that accent still even through the gritty sound in his voice btw. Also love how he knows the name of Mr. Porsche and how he commented on the King Tiger hahaha
How lucky this gentleman is to have a former soldier tell his story to him from the other side of the coin! If he is your friend or family I’d cherish those moments for the rest of your life
There were a lot more loyal Japanese soldiers than German soldiers most of the German soldiers were against the war it always pisses me off whenever people make it out like every German soldier was bad that’s bull shit most German soldiers were great men they were just doing what they were told they had no choice we would be doing the same thing if America was a dictatorship following orders.
It would be nice to have an experienced interviewer conduct a session with this man. Just the one story he did tell about the Russians was very interesting. I'm sure he has more.
Roosevelt is Churchill is Hitler is Stalin- Ponzi scheme to slave the masses, release the clowns. American unions scourge on all working class people. 13% of working class are unionized, they dictate the fate of remaining 87% of working class= dictatorship fascism!! 2 party is 1

If Russian troops get to speak after raping over 900,000 women in a single year of occupation in Berlin (ages 8 to 80) , then this simple German soldier gets to speak too. Not all soldiers were "Nazis". The only known part of the war is told by the victorious, plenty of skeletons are kept in the closet.
A soldier fighting for his country is just like any other, so don't be a hypocrite and say "oh f*ck him hes german". Nobody has any right to disrespect a person who's willing to put their own life at risk in order to defend their country.
0:12 - I think the picture he is referring as being "man made" is the image of the flag raising on Mount Suribachi. I think he meant that it was "staged" as opposed to being candid. Yes, it was a reenactment using a bigger flag than the initial raising. The partial image is visible when he flips back to it at 1:06 in conjunction with the images that were visible when he initially made the comment. In his own words, no doubt.
My great grand father’s brother flew a ki-43 Hayabusa and was apparently a kamikaze pilot towards the end of the war. If you want to hear more stories just ask
My grandfather never spoke about the war, reconnaissance regiment. Until I'd served I knew why. You just don't. Active service does that. No fkr is going to believe you. So why bother.
Being honest i don't give a fuck if he's a nazi or not. Even if they killed, even if they did what they did to the Jews, not every soldier was there to conquer the world, some were there because they believed it was the right way to protect their country. And don't dare say "Oh, but they were cruel monsters, they tortured, raped and attacked other peoples" can you say it was everyone you brat? And also, if he was? He killed? Yes. He destroyed? Yes. But can we truly call him "the monster"? Yes and no, why? Simple, because we did the same damn thing. They killed, we killed, Japan killed, sovied union killed, everyone killed, that was the fucking world war 2. They were the villains for what they did to the world, we attacked them to protect our countries but that doesn't takes away the fact that we killed many soldiers who just wanted their peace. They wanted peace and we wanted too. Behind every gun, there's no demon, or angel, there's a soldier and a human. Nothing can justify what they did, and nothing can justify what we did But the past, is the past, what happened, happened. So everything i can do is to praise this man for fightning for his country. And it's ok if you didn't read, i wrote so much
I read it! But let me ask you this, what was done to the Germans to start a World War? All soldiers are are just cogs in a gear. Part of a machine. Just like I was for 12 years. I may not have agreed with the orders I was given but I carried them out just like this man did!
I remember my (British) history teacher explaining how a lot of Germans signed up for the army because it was one of the few places you could get away from the incessant Nazi propaganda that dominated civilian life. The army was powerful enough that it could largely stand apart from Nazi politics. It was only after the failure of Operation Valkyrie in July 1944 that the Nazis finally began actively politicising it - and seeing how the American military is now being turned 'woke' I can imagine how obnoxious those German soldiers must have found it.
As I am an Indian... But i like to listen stories of war time heroes... Either they are german soldier Or U. S. Or belong to any country... My fav series:band of brothers
