Visited Railtown 1897, June '24. Primarily went for the 4 mi Train Ride, left with far more appreciation of the history of steam trains and Sierra Railway. Credit to Austin, docent tour guide of the Roundhouse which stores historic locomotives and related machinery. Detailed, excellent historic facts presented, all of interest and nothing I previously knew. Gained understanding of the use of steam trains in advancing lumber and mining within the region. Hollywood's later interest helped revive the trains, offered income, and avoided them being scrapped when diesel arrived.
Fun fact in the lobby of the csrm was a locomotive built for the 1914 world's fair in san francisco its sister locomotives are now apart of the newly formed overfair pacific railway society. The society is building a railroad at the Santamargarita ranch memorial day weeken will be a event at the ranch including tractors trains and airplanes
Exceptionnal visual production and video editing. So beautiful, sweet and smooth. Much inspired and talented. A real peaceful and relaxing pleasure to watch. Full of poetry and spirit. Good for the mind and the eyes. Great visit and discover. Fabulous filming. Big big big like for this fantastic perform and brighting sharing. Splendid and luminous.
The last passenger station on the western end was right here in Niles, California. And the station is still here. Niles was the first Hollywood in California too. Also the first silent westerns were created and filmed here (over 300) where the bad guys robbed the trains. The trains still run here too.
As long as the road is open I dont see why not. The trail starts about 100 yards from the road. We parked on the side of the road because we did not have reservations to the campground. There was plenty of parking there when we went.
Yes, you are correct about the other bigger waterfall, but you have to climb up the rock face to get there and then either jump off into the water or climb back down to get back. There were lots of wasp up on the rocks by the bigger falls and didn't feel like getting stung.
The Fields of lights had to installed with the solar lights and it looks beautiful when it lit up at night. Chilling out for the Big Sonic Chill type of music.
It was beautiful at night especially after the sun was down for a little while and the orange glow behind the giant oak trees. If you liked the music on this video you should check out our others sometime. We do all our videos to music.
Thank you! We have never experienced the crazy static like that before. We must of had 5 different thunderstorms all around us happening at the same time.
