Welcome to Official OutWithMyGear.com RU-vid Account! We are a few enthusiasts who love to travel and reconnect with nature. What started out as a journal of our voyages has evolved into a log of opinions, ideas, and experiences. Here we discuss different National and State parks we visit, campgrounds & trails we spend our time in, and gear we use.
Hope you enjoy our reviews as much as we enjoy making them!
This is awesome dude. Been looking around for easy ways to organise my rav4 trunk for road trips with my gf but yours tops my list . The spinning rods + Velcro + plastic boxes is a genius idea. Thanks!
Oooh I like the looks of this one. I first tried backpacking with an Ozark trail 30 dollar backpacking tent, and it was awful. It got so stuffy and it was so cramped. This looks so much roomier and breathable.
Every time I hike and camp somewhere here and outside of Flagstaff Arizona.. most people are freaking slobs on trash and foul language... As a avid nudist hiker and off grid tent camper... Harriman State Park would be on my bucket list... Happy trails to both of you
I don't have the van anymore or video of installation. It wasn't too complicated, just follow other cables that run from the door to the dash. Good luck!
Very informative. I also come from a large and noisy city so I understand wanting to get away from noise. But that being said, I can also sleep through it since I'm accustomed to it. Thank you for the video. 🏕 😊
I always bring earplugs when comping because even if there isn't street noise, then there's the sound of insects and other animals or rain banging on something that can keep you up.
Literally Brilliant!!!! You saved me so much mental strain trying to figure out how to pack the Rav4! Saved me a good bit of money too because storage solutions, roof racks, etc are expensive!! Thanks so much for this great idea!❤
you have not been in an accident with this, I have seen items flying through the front windscreen, you should add a cargo net for the safety of everyone in the car.
Are you kidding me? The road is mountainous and very wavy. I have NEVER heard trucks or cars near any site I have rented. It's on the side of a mountain for Christ sakes. If you want just birds and waterfalls go to the aplilation trail (like this guy seams to be used to) This is a nice place to see beavers and other wildlife. This is a bullshit review.
Savages. Thank you for being there, taking the time to share the wrong behavior and righting the wrong. I myself have had to clean up after the dregs of society in the same manner. So unfortunate
Longshot seeing as this is 6 years old but was the rain fly tricky to figure out? I feel like they gave me the wrong poll for mine because it's just too damn long to sit in the slots on the rain fly.
Used mine once 10 years ago. Tried it recently after ten years in storage. Rain tarp ripped slightly but nothing major. Haven't had it in the rain but plan on it later this year in cold climate with electric hookup and a infrared heater. Will test it with a safety net if time allows. No issues with poles mine must've been built midweek
Ive added a 2" foam pad and it was ok for a solo for a night or two.. definitely tight. I only camped a bit in it before getting roof top tent for longer hauls.
The campgounds are haunted! I was solo camping there in July 2021. I booked 2 nights. The second night there I had to flee in utter terror. I had built an excellent campfire and was relaxing, about to retire for the night to my tent. It became eerily quiet , suddenly I saw what I would describe as a holographic translucent man walk right through the woods and in front of the fire, then he disappeared! He was clothed in a Civil War soldier type of uniform.
I love this life hack! Want to try modifying this for suv camping inside only though. Get a black tarp or blackout curtains to hide the trunk when it’s in normal minimal regular car mode. Or use the curtain rods with blackout curtains to behind the back and front seats for extra privacy mode.
I watched one last night on its back fluttering long time. Finally I found him or her. I flipped it over. Then it flipped back over . Did a few times. Prompting me to want to know was it dying ? Why did it take so long ? Did it hurt ? 😔
Insects really only feel basic of stimuli. They don't really feel "pain" emotionally like we do. They're basically just nervous systems. So don't worry, it didn't suffer.
"Overall I would not recommend this place". Ok? Actually the reasons you mentioned, besides the cluttered part, are reasons why I would go. First, the alcohol. I know this may be hard to believe but people can have a good time without having a drink. Also, alcohol promotes loud music and parties, especially after hours by piece of "work" people who are inconsiderate. If they are drinking, they are even harder to negotiate with because I will confront them and tell them to turn off their music and knock it off after 10pm. Second, dogs. Most dog owners are self-entitled and inconsiderate pieces of "work". They bring their dog to a camping trip knowing full well it acts out and barks. No one wants to hear that. Dogs will be dogs. Especially in a new place with other animals and strange people walking all around their established territory. I am there to enjoy the piece and quiet and not hear someone's dog barking all day long or loud people and music. So this is a win for any place i'd like to stay. Stop comparing these rules to North Korea. Maybe if people were less selfish and had common courtesy, we would not need these rules.
The accent was so strong and then you said Jersey..made me laugh. I have just purchased the tent. Or a variety of it second hand. Excited to try it out.
15 min tops put together before a severe storm .. the new 2021 version is awesome.. queen blow up with tons of room .. up against sides.. no leak thru!!!! 30 mph winds .. no water
top of the line very spacious everything is top notch and extremely durable and easy to use set up and store why because he sells these military all over the world! no other hammock (and trust me I looked) has extra sheet on bottom.. I cannot stress how amazing this is even if it seems like it has fewer features then others. Also the reason the rain tarp is designed that way is to make sure you do not get wet at all. water comes down the ropes on many other brands this one will make sure no water touches the hammock. Finally a tip shove a stick into the loops attached to the mosquito net by your face to stretch it out so no bug will land on you 6/5 stars!!!!
Planning on going on my first backpacking trip soon to the area so watching videos, doing it with my pup. How is you pup doing, any advice for the pupper? Old video but still good!
Oh man enjoy! Plan to stay in designated areas or rangers will ticket you. Keep the dog on the leash to prevent it chasing a deer/other wild life. Bring bug spray and check for ticks before going to bed. Let me know how it goes!
