I walk down this corridor nearly every day & recognize some individuals. Based on my observations I would assume that this was filmed on a Saturday morning around autumn of 2021?
At 33:40 the store front on the left with the wheelchair ramp was my dad's butcher shop in the 1970s. It appears to be vacant when this video was shot.
This wasy home and where I met the love of my life we spent everyday there and eventually had two children, moved away and I get so home sick. I will never ever feel as good as I did here and I can't wait to come back. I love you Adam Bodnar
I just love these videos of walking through places in Pittsburgh. I haven’t lived in Pittsburgh since the 60’s when I went west after Vietnam. I didn’t spend much time in Bloomfield, but had relatives in Lawrenceville and would walk through.
Pittsburgh is a beautiful city, but at night it is one of the darkest most under-illuminated downtowns you will find anywhere. That's due to the former mayor who initiated an idiotic one-man crusade against "light pollution". The result is a a dark, foreboding and unwelcoming environment that people tend to avoid.
Apart from the giant eyesore of that section with the “modern” apartment complex, the Wendy’s, and the gas station… it’s beautiful! I’m so tired of developers ruining historical areas with character with modern monstrosities 🫣
OMG! What memories I have of this route. I walked these streets from Wilkinsburg to East Liberty so many times in the late 1950s and I see much has changed since then. I went west in mid 60s so I wasn't around to see the changes. Thanks so much for making this video.
Born and raised in The Burgh….I thought Austin Texas traffic was nightmare….chil’….I wouldn’t be able to take it….every five seconds a red light and construction and detours….Austin Texas has many highways and toll roads to use instead of surface streets….this here!!!!! This is so annoying I am tired of watching this dude drive….much less drive myself. I rode the bus when I was living in The Burgh….haven’t been back on Pennsylvania soil since the day I left 26 years ago….if I ever get back for a visit….I hope it’s easier to drive than on this day!!!!
