The assembly sucks. That's because their directions are useless. I had to use RU-vid videos to assemble it. Yes, I needed 3 videos to see how it was done. And I am mechanically inclined! After that, the machine works great! Great for legs, with the proper foot straps. Great for rows, lat pull-downs, curls, triceps pushdowns, etc.
Liftosaur is da bomb I used the free version for a few days then lashed out for a life subscription. At around $115 AUD wasn't cheap but it does everything I want and is actively supported. I've tried a lot of apps. Some for a single use or a few days others for months. Until now I hadn't found one that I could justify spending money on. For the more expensive apps I struggled to see the value compared to investing in my garage gym. For the cheaper apps I generally felt even the pro versions didn't do everything I wanted. It won't work for everyone. When I first started lifting I would often walk into my garage and decide what I was going to do when I got there. Liftosaur is not a good app for spontaneous ad-hoc workouts. Setting up a custom program in liftosaur requires some effort. It will generally require using the scripting language to define the program. It might not be a good choice anyone who is not comfortable learning some basic coding. Liftoscript is very flexible and powerful. There are few limitations on how a workout program or session can be structured.
How about the Hero attachment, they look kind of identical? I'm using it for a Rogue bench, but I'm not quite sure if there's any difference between the hero and the buzzsaw?
@@thadudedk thanks, I was thinking about just giving the Hero attachment a shot. It looks less robust, but I can't imagine there could be a major difference in what can be expected from performance.
Thanks for the review. I've been using the free version of strong for the last few months. I like it but it doesn't do everything I want so I'm looking for alternatives. I'm happy to pay to get the features I wanted to see what was out there before downloading dozens of apps.
Awesome review. I'm going back for another look at hevy which I had previously played with but decided wasn't right for me and super excited to have a look at liftosaur.
Love your detailed review and comparison man! Can you try out Evolve AI vs juggernaut ai for regular body building program/ hypertrophy, strength and cardio and tell us what you think about the layout/ ui, stats, pros and cons with every app.. free vs paid mode etc? Would really appreciate 🙏👍
Thabk you so much! I scoured the internet to find someone that mixed 5/8 and 1 inch uprights and youre the only one i could find. So based on this video and your x3 video, I can deduce that my x3 90inch uprights should connect to the pr5000 93 inch uprights perfectly!
I'm 67 years and 8-months old, and I own 4 home gyms: a garage gym, a basement gym, an extension room gym, and a backyard patio gym. I own solid rubber-coated hex dumbbells, Power Block adjustable dumbbells, Olympic adjustable dumbbells, Kensui Fitness Adjustabell, and spin-lock dumbbells. I recommend buying the spin-lock dumbbells with vinyl-covered concrete weight plates. Vinyl-covered concrete weight plates are larger, and it is easy to bench press with them because of their large size. You don't need a flat bottom to kick into position when you do flat bench presses because of their size. You can also do unbalanced curls and other unbalanced exercises, like Arnold Schwarzenegger did-- that is, by loading more weight on one side of the dumbbells than on the other. For instance, curl with the heavier side while turning your wrist inward, which causes your biceps to ball up and contract harder.
yea, i got mine on Walmart for 69 bucks it came with the longer sleeves. I'm just not lifting enough to worry about spending 4 times the cost to just be overbuilt. it does what I need and if later down the line it starts breaking you can replace it.
On clearance at wally website, $59 shipped, go get it while you can, its a steal for this open hex bar. Current model has plenty of knurling. 15.5 inch sleeves.
All good, but see, the abs part for a beginner is not that important. If your BMI is 33 for example, and you start lifting weights now, you couldn't care less about abs, you can't crunch or even maybe do a leg raise. By the time you get to tie your shoes, you WILL want abs and add them to your workout. So yes, I would agree that this app is beginner orientated and I guess that if you're skinny, abs done 2 or 3 times per week will yield some good aesthetic results. Either than that, you mentioned core earlier, and if core strength is what you're after, we have to agree that abs workouts don't increase your core strength that much, it's heavy lifting that does that (free weights, and barbell compound movements, less machines) or as an alternative, add resistance bands to your lifting for 6 months and we talk about core strength afterwards 😊 Great review though, thank you.
Genuinely don’t understand peoples shock regarding the price. So many programs are in the $30-$60 per month range. Why would anybody expect this one to be cheaper? Does this not actually create workouts for people?
solid advice - thanks for taking the time and reviewing! Looked through JuggernautAI, Strong, Hevy, Alpha Progression and Stronglifts and by far Liftosaur is the best (otherwise would be tough choice if StrenghtLog was cheaper...)! I love the automatic progression calculator so I don't have to think about adjusting the weights myself and that is opensource :)
Can you compare the RP app vs Boostcamp app? I think boostcamp is more feature rich, it's an actual app, has evidence based coach programs like eric helms, and costs less.
Very jealous of you Americans being able to get this. In UK with delivery and import taxes it would add to much for me to justify the cost, but I'd love something like this to be available over here. Great video 👍
I knew I needed a rack as tall as possible without issue but have never personally seen a rack in person yet,Im 5ft 11 too but have 88 1/2 ceiling in my adjoining dining and living room.. 88 may be too tall?,I was thinking 86 or 85 at the very least because my "hands arms" reach to about 84 inches "center gripped".I can't seem to find a 86 i like either so if i could assemble it with a half inch to spare I would.
monolift with the wedges work cause there is no walk out. However dont get the foam ones I can feel it compress.; I return those and looking to pick up the rogues. They do work well with goblets squats but I have a slant stack for goblets.
