If its a standalone Empower you need to manually backup the project as per your required frequency. For that open 'configure system'. Select the required project Right click select Backup and press next, select the destination / folder and click finish. it will start the backup process.
Its good to have database backup for disaster recovery but there is no proper script to backup database on standalone system. So project backup is enough.
Hi, I want to created a processing method for Head space GC. We are using empower 3. I have a sample set where I will run system suitability test, samples and standards. However, I have Internal standard in all my samples. The method describes to calculate the concentration based on: ppm = (Rc/Rs) x Ps/Pc x dilution factor Where: Rc = ratio of component peak area and internal standard peak area in sample solution Rs = ratio of component peak area and internal standard peak area in standard solution Ps = quantity of solvent in standard preparation Pc = quantity of sample weighed I can add PS and PC and dilution factor in alter sample. However, how can I set up the processing method so that it will used Rc and Rs to calculate the concentration? Which means that it calculates based on Interanl standard in sample and in standard solution. Thanks for you help! Regards

To clear any previously saved calibration curve from the processing method. If you are calculating the unknown amount with pre-saved PM and putting the standard amount in either a sampler set or processing method then you can use this option. Hope I have cleared my point
While creating instruments method u have given gradient program but selected pump mode Isocratic..u should select pump mode as gradient....good tutorial
Gradient mode is actually refers to time program. meaning change of either mobile phase or flow rate. But in isocratic you still can select the ratio of more than 1 mobile phase but it will remain the same throughout the run.
Thank Alvaro its very easy create a Instrument Method and program the washing in gradient table & at last line Change the flow to 0 & Detector Lamp to Off Finally add this method at End of your sequence Line on Condition column or Select shutdown method Will running the Sample Que. System suitability parameters are part of Processing method, while creating PM you need to check the System suitability in PM wizard. But before that you need to have suitability License installed in Empower
