I'm approaching my mid-40's and my friends and I still get a chuckle every time one of us lets loose a vapor-beast. Now that we're all old and have bad guts, we can trade some epic blasts.
Alright alright alright alright alright, serious subject finally, except the laughing gas, its god way reminding pewny flesh creatures ur all his stinky creation n yes u all stinks
New Wave=White Funk. That's how I would describe the Talking Heads ' music style today! Great Band! Burning down the house, still one of my all time favorite songs. So, I would even say that, music made by black Americans, has had a very big impact on Pop/Rock Music in general, and in particular on the Talking Heads. 9:12
Hahaha ha. At 26:38 I knew the interviewer was a man. .. a tranny. I was only partially right. It was David Byrne in drag interviewing himself using camera magic. The Joke was definitely on me
the thing with the beans around the campfire actually is funny. It's funny because they are acting as if nothing out of the ordinary is happening. It makes me laugh after a few seconds of them farting. It's really impossible to definitively say what is funny, but I can 100% for sure say it made me laugh
I love talking heads. I love it cuz he wears that suit and it's like pretty and he's always moving the always like a he's energized. It's like he's energized, buying or something. Him just banned
They are a very interesting band. In less than a decade, they put out 8 albums and then broke up when David Bryne left. The remaining three first toured as Shrunken Heads. They they did an album without David called No Talking, Just Head and they called themselves "The Heads" with a number of guest singers. This went over badly with David and he sued them to stop it. Besides reuniting for the Hall of Fame and playing three songs together they have not preformed again. They did get back together to promote a re-release of their movie Stop Making Sense in 2023 and appeared together for interviews on a couple of shows, but when offered $80 million to reunite and tour in early 2024 there was a unanimous "No" for all band members. So it won't happen.
Stop Making Sense came along at a time when I really needed an album and they've been playing in my house since what, 84? The band has lifted so much weight and sorrow off me.
People want to stay in that groove where they felt great, felt the best they ever had. What happens so many times, staying there means you missed the bus... you're left behind, so catch the next ride and move on.
Talking heads and blondie were lumped in with punk but they were never punk. They perfectly fit the whole new genre label new wave. I get sick of these record label people constantly bashing punk as if it had no fans. Punk just wasn't something they had control over so they tried to bury it. Music is absolutely commercial now because the labels have total control and it is all soulless commercial crap.
David Byrne is the epitome of what an artist should be. Unapologetically ambitious and creative, yet also humble and centered. No ego, just a conduit of art.
