The sounds of bagpipes is haunting and emotional to me just having Scottish heritage, it drills deep and after reading the battle of Culloden even harder.
Im proud to be one of those people. To give something back is a fantastic feeling. Playing at a funeral is just the most important time in someone's life, saying goodbye to thier loved ones.. God bless each and every one..
My grandmother died one week ago. I just bawled my eyes out watching and listening to this. For the Queen, and for my Grandmother's love of her... thank you, piper.
Wow. I was there at the service in St Paul's. As we stood in line to enter the church, it was absolutely pouring with rain. The majority of us were coincidentally in suits/business wear, as mostly bankers/lawyers already present in the City were lucky enough to get hold of a ticket within the short timespan it was announced that the public could attend the same day. It was so incredibly well organised and the memorial service left a deep impression, especially the bagpiper. You could feel the heaviness. I just had to look up this video after I finished The Crown on Netflix. I sobbed when I heard this song again, as I was flooded with memories. It truly was the end of the monarchy as we knew it.
Wow, during the first 12 hours of mine and Woody.EXE’s reign; we were both staying at my grandmothers house overnight when i suddenly heard Woody.EXE play Flowers of the forest on the bagpipes as he walked down the stairs and my grandmother cried. She knew Woody.EXE will be a great monarch for Wales and I’m honoured to be Woody.EXE’s Queen of 2 years
The reason the bagpipes aren’t loved is because they are not heard the way they’re meant to be heard often. Either echoing through a grand cathedral, or marching through a battlefield.
Myself, for sure. And here I am with a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes.Again.I don't imagine I'm the only one who finds it so...strange,that Her Majesty is gone.I am glad, though, that when she passed, she passed at Balmoral. The place she went for some peace.
