Here's a rephrased version of your text: I believe the video aimed to illustrate how viewers can grasp the concept by visualizing data structures. However, it lacks an explanation of the purpose behind each step. You expect viewers to understand your actions without clarifying their intent. In this field, there are multiple ways to achieve the same outcome, so it's crucial to explain the reasoning behind each step, not just use components and expect results. Emphasizing the 'why' behind the use of each component is important.
becoming am Expert CAD modeller is very long and time consuming journey.I found alot of 3D world countries quote way too low that you cannot compete against . I feel frustrated. They even quote $10 for CAD modeling! So stupid. I tried Alias and its so difficult to master. I salute those Alias CLass A modellers. i am still trying after 3 years and not good enough from my standard. Thanks for sharing this information.
Hi,my freeform blend is not working correctly. Its creating bulge. I exactly followed ur tutorial 3 times. It dosent work. Is there anyway to send u screenshot?
Thank you! You would not believe how many times it would usually take me to create a construction plane with the right xyz directions. You made it super easy to get it right!
Gracias y espero tus comentarios. Saludos
Thank you so much for this video. I've been trying to do concept car for a couple of months now, and being screwing up big time. This video is the only one that address the core issues. The initial 2D sketch has to be made accurately by someone first before it can be translated into 3D and surfacing. Blueprints on the internet are NOT concept sketches. They already exist. And that's exactly what concept is all about.
Nice video. Thanks a lot for sharing it. One thing I can't understand in data trees, how matching data in data trees of different depth works. It's really confusing. Sometimes it acts like cross-referencing, and sometimes like matching by the 'longest list'. But I don't understand why it's different for various cases
It depends on the structure the branches and the number of items in each branch. So lets say you have two different branch depths but in the end the have the same number of items, gh will treat it as if they were in the same depth. It also depends on the tool and other factors. It sounds like the concept of how branches interact with each other based on the hierarchy is what hasn't clicked for you. Without seeing your examples I wouldn't know exactly where is the disconnect. The rhino grasshopper forums are a good place to show your algorithm and others can help. If you do post it, send a link here and I'll see if I can help you figure out the problem.
Not sure why you edited out connections of the algorithm as you went along. I was super confused why my stuff wasn’t working at around 9min in. We need to see the whole thing.
Hi ray. Thankyou so much for sharing your philosphy. I have applied some of your phylosphical mindsed to my sketch modelling in blender and am currently transferring from blender to Alias.
Weird pairing though? Is there much need for alias>blender, considering anyone paying the stratospheric sub fees for alias would probably send to Maya or high end rendering app?
Not really inside the design studio, maybe if it gets outsourced for marketing, those companies would use maya, max or cinema4d, but in the studio, especially the younger designers and viz guys are using blender. Vred would be the high cost viz they would also have, many times resellers just pack both Alia’s and vred into a bundle. I’ve been in studios where they are using vred, maya, blender, keyshot, max, it’s really the staffs choice on what they like to use to visualize. Most the time they’ll have licenses for any option. You have to remember these are all internal private images anyways, so setting up a scene and rendering it for studio reviews, most 3D software are capable of that with the right skill set. I do alot of visualization work for my clients and they love my blender renderings.
In 2024.1, importing the 2022 pref set .aps file from handlebar's website, none of the hotkeys get imported. The marking menus, interface colors and prefs do import. I was more interested in the hotkey setup workflow. Not sure why this process isn't importing all hotkeys. Any idea anyone?
I used to work for Scania Trucks in Sweden. I was paid £500/day as a designer in 2014 and the British Alias modellers were getting more, all paid through an agency called Futura. This is fairly good pay for the design world. Some Alias modeller 'contractors' had been there for 10 years and earning 5x as much as the Swedes, who were 'employed' to do the same job. So if you want to be a contractor you go through an agency who sort everything out for you and in return you get paid way more than if not, so in that situation it wasn't a problem at all. I suppose if you want to look at skills vs pay you'd be better off being a lawyer or doctor or trader, none of which are as difficult as transportation design in my opinion (knowing people in those industries and their abilities and level of skill/knowledge for the job).
Thanks for your tips and time but these are not ball corners. Your corners have 4 rads/boundaries whereas a ball corner has 6 rads/boundaries. I make my own but you need more than just one surface.
