I had never heard of him until now and I am 66 years old. Why I never is beyond me. Jack is remarkable and such a talent. Thank you for sharing about you and your father. It was a blessing to see him in action. Thanks again. Don.
In all the years I lived in Streatham Hill (1982-1997), I never realised this was at the end of my Road (Wyatt Park Road). And in the years I used to spend my time in Streatham (1973-1976) I never once set foot in there. How sad am I????
The old ABC cineema that used to be a theatre was developed into housing which was a shame as it was beautiful. Streatham had so many amenities that were lost.
I went to the same school as Kenneth: Tulse Hill. The Loc holds a lot of great memories for me. And blow me down I used the hairdressers in Leigham Court Road. 3/6 a cut and steam towel for the face. And the same old "Anything for the weekend sir," when you went to pay. I'm 79 coming up and still ask for a college boy at my local hairdressers (for what I have left). I was also a projectionist at the ABC Regal Streatham for a number of years before working at Elstree Studios from 1968-1974. Great memories.
