Thieves actually stole my Giulia’s radar sensor, not the car. I found out to my cost unfortunately that it’s a hugely expensive part so worth stealing in its own right. The part was £974 to replace then it has to be fitted and recalibrated. Park it against a wall now on my drive. Apparently this theft is also popular on VWs which also have a very easy to access sensor.
Sure it comes alive at 6K rpm since that's when the valves lift. That's not the fun factor. It's about how hard you dare push in tight curves, at speed, under hard acceleration. Lotus does this best.
@@NaturallyAspirated If it’s in budget a S2 Exige S… The SC gives it a little more torque making it much more usable. Has a hard top as standard but can easily be removed on sunny days - add a soft top for summer use!
I have the S2 111R and love it; a true driver's experience. Raw, responsive and requires fresh rubber. For an Exige, I'd go up to the S3. BTW, don't rev the engine when starting.
@@patrickvanrinsvelt4466 love to hear you enjoy yours! I will say i don't think the rubber was upto much on this car! And yes we would never rev on a cold engine, we had just been driving around so the car was still warm... we wouldn't want to send a piston to the moon! haha
I'm a big Jaguar fan. Currently I have an XKR x150 and a XJR X356 with 500.000km. The interior and the guts of this XJR X351 are really amazing, but even trying hard, I'm not able to like the exterior. I will try harder, but I'm affraid I don't see "the Jaguarness" anymore, it feels to me like a premium Citroën C6 on steroids.
I can’t see how this weekend will be beaten - I’ve barely stopped thinking and talking about it since getting back! It’s great to get to relive it through this video
They tried to steal mine on sat. Lucky I have a Pandora alarm and it needs a tag to work with the key . He pulled out the radar and got access to my car. Then the alarm did it job. Phoned me on my phone and alarmed and the guy ran off . With out spending that 2k on the alarm I would have lost my car. But the cunt ran of with my radar and cover . Don’t buy these cars and settle for a steering lock get a ghost or a pandora alarm
@@jimmycole Firstly, each to their own and you're welcome to your opinion. I'd agree it may be inappropriate on a V8 XJ Autobiography or Portfolio, but this is the R model and should have a bit more noise. As you don't like the glorious V8 noise you should probably sell your XJR. It would appear a near silent EV is more up your street... 😜
What sort of driving? Road or track? If it’s primarily road, the 420 is ideal. The 620 is almost too quick, especially when it’s damp! If it’s track the 420 is perfectly adequate but the 620 is insane and you’ll run rings around everything. If you do go for a 620, factor in a remap, cooling mod etc. to make it much more drivable. There’s a FB group specifically for the 620 which is a wealth of information. Either way, let us all know what you get!!
Not just the acceleration but also the braking and cornering is amazing courtesy of extremely low weight., I can remember driving back home on the A47 in Norfolk following some race watching at Snetterton and watching an Aston Martin Volante convertible trying to catch me up and outbrake me when coming up to one of the many roundabouts on that dual carriageway, with me on the inside lane in my Seven, it was an older guy with a very good looking lady passenger, only she was screaming next as the Aston drove straight on and over the roundabout with all wheels locked because the driver mistakenly thought he could outbrake a 500kg Caterham.
I had a V8 Vantage previously. Very underwhelming car to drive! Not that fast, crappy brakes and so heavily it wallowed all over the place! Lovely car to do big miles in style but certainly no sports car.
