Very loud inside and nearby but very silent at some distance when dropping to climb power. I live nearby ARN airport and used to hear them almost every night (mail flights) I miss them
IL-96 is a beautiful aircraft, it could of easily compeated with Airbus and Boeing. I know USA doesn't fly eastern aircraft. But it would be so much cheaper to buy Russian built aircraft.
To all negative comments, cmon guys a man crated a such a beautiful airplane and we saying bad things about that. There is a old saying, i live in planet not in country, so just because its Russian made does not make it a crap. Love the look and i think it looks sexy
You mean winglet? Or the little ∞ shaped thing? This little thing is designed to instal escape ropes during emergency landing on water. Check out Capitan Joe channel on YT, he explains such things. Cheers
She's perfect, ain't she?definitely one of the most magnificent aircraft ever built . Look at how proportionate and graceful she is.wide-body class -only the triple 7 can rival it in beauty and style .fuel and weigh efficiency is a different story though .
Such a beautiful aircraft. I know the A380 is bigger but she looks about as aerodynamic as a Pizza Hut and has no graceful lines. Airbus knew the 747 reigned supreme and they wanted a piece of the pie. The lines of a 747 are instantly recognizable and no other plane has changed the way the world travels more so than the Boeing 747. It’s sad to see her passenger days diminish.
If you love aviation, it doesn't matter where it's made. If it's a good airplane, it's a good airplane. Russian aircraft may not necessarily have the aesthetics that western aircraft do (sorry, nothing compares to the 747-8, 777-3, the 787-9, and A350 for beauty), but they aren't ugly. And they are very rugged!
