This channel, named after the Coaster Locomotive NCTC 5008, is a diversion from the base L8 Productions Channel for trains and other railroading content! I hope you enjoy 5008 Creations
Instantly recognized the render is just a VIA Rail F40PH-2D, although a few of those aforementioned engines are being sent out for rebuild AGAIN apparently. And others have mentioned this before me, but only the HEP Genset in that sheet was Tier 4, the prime mover is same old same old, a Tier 0+ 16-645, only with 200 less horsepower than the majority of F40s on the rails at the moment.
I live in Toronto, so yes I do agree that in it's emergency setting the K5CA is dismal, especially with VIA Rail recently replacing the 90s K5LA main horn on the P42 fleet, with another K5CA like the emergency horn up front... But I can at least tolerate it now on it's regular setting (which wasn't really featured other than briefly at the start of the GO clip), as I've heard that one enough that it's starting to grow on me. At least I can somewhat forgive VIA for using a K1L13 on the F40 fleet as a replacement for the K3L, and the Hybrid K5CA (Yes really) that they use as their emergency horn.
capitol corrider is pretty expensive unless you're a regular traveller or they have discounts. Single ride's pretty expensive but they sometimes have good discounts (take5for5, bogo, etc) and have good 10-ride benefits
25:34 And I get that folks'd say "why would you go *up* to Stockton? There's nothing to do there." And that's a problem of travel patterns that we need to change. Most places I've seen, mass transit is usually made to feed existing popular travel patterns instead of influence them
>I want to take the southwest chief but can't find any reason to One excuse is to go to the Grand Canyon! The Chief is a night train from LA to Flagstaff and connects to a Groome Transportation shuttle to the south rim If you go the right time of year and get a reservation at the bright angel campsite you could hike down to the Colorado river, camp there for a night, and then hike back up early the next morning. If you book amtrak waaaayyy in advance at least it's a little cheaper than Greyhound (though still quite expensive)
ACE is mainly for people who work in the Bay Area, nobody really takes ACE to Stockton for “fun”, people who ride ACE is people who work in the Bay Area, that’s why their frequency is bad and not as good as Caltrain
That doesn‘t mean they shouldn‘t run bidirectional all-day service though. A serious rail service is one that is available at all hours during the day. Who knows if people actually would ride from SJ to Stockton in the reverse-commute pattern or if the line would see use on weekends. I almost guarantee that if you provided those options, people would take advantage of them.
>their schedules are so close to perfect consider >riverside line schedule >ieoc line schedule >91 line schedule >literally any schedule except the antelope valley line schedule tbh
