Notice how they have mixed up their mugs before and after Barry's depressing realisation of the loss of his license, sadly shows how often l have watched this , Do you know how hard it is to catch a penguin.....!! PRICELESS!!!!
Also my uncle wrestled Pat Roach, and they got on well, he wouldn't tell us the result, I think outta respect, my uncle never ever lost many, he said Pat was a proper gentleman, very very tough, honest and fair guy, who he respected! That's from an ex pro wrestler!
First two series were top top class Still remember the time me an my older brother didn't fight was when we watched this on Friday nights, used to get a right kicking before and after tho ..... They don't make em like this anymore, as proven by the following series ! My mother and aunt used to serve Jimmy Nail in their boozer, he was just he is in the 1st 2 series, he wasn't actually acting, it was just him being himself He changed a bit now, probs for the best for his career choices, hate it when geordies loose or choose to loose the accent Class sho tho
Oz !! What a guy the bit where he turns up at dens sis hoose is priceless i had a flashback of begbies story in the pub in trainspotting ripped of from oz lads story 😂😂😂
Even though this is 40 years old , everything looks so better in the 1980s than it is now . No mobile phones, no Internet, no social media, no woke nonsense .
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?
Billy's sarcasm when he sees the damage to the Jag and takes pleasure in telling Ali knowing Dennis is already in for a bollicking. I have worked under toxic backstabbers like that before who grass you up over something you haven't done then stand back and laugh when you get a bollicking.
19.23 Norma's two Triumph Dolomite owning neighbours must have thought Dennis must be on one hell of a salary to be driving a Jag. Also Dennis doesn't half chance it with drinking and driving.
@@theculturedthug6609 no it was the last 6pr 7 episodes. He was still in the episodes but there were loads of scenes he was, missing. All the inside studio scenes from Spain for a start.
Wicked!! Just fucking Wicked!!! I still think that the first series was the best one though..... but I absolutely love all of them!!!! Classic through and through!!!!!
It's amazing how memorable the script is to remember. So very well written with a very simple easy to follow story line unlike many shows today where the scripts are over complicated and hard to follow. One of the greatest shows ever and I'm sure will last for a very long time
How difficult was it to come up with a decent storyline for the 3rd and 4th series? The first and second series were amazing but the others were rubbish.Too unbelievable. Even without Wayne, I can think of a hundred reasons for them to get together again. Should have kept the storyline working class
@@theculturedthug6609yeah I kind of agree. The 3rd series was the best out of the later series. It still had some of the old magic but still a bit disappointing . Miss Wayne and his son brought nothing to the show. It was still OK tho. Series 4 and Xmas special I just did not like at all. It was like a differen show ??
I didn't even bother with the later episodes. Series 1 and 2 were the show, in my opinion. The later series was just an attempt at making money. The classic rehash of an iconic television series, years later.
