What sort of tire pressures are you running? I’ve got some 6mm tubes freshly installed and I’m trying to find a happy medium between good traction on the trails and safe performance on the road (my 300r is road legal).
@@romand123 I've settled on about 15 psi in the front and 12 in the rear with irc HD tubes. I think it's high enough to avoid pinch flats while not deflecting too bad off the roots where I ride. You may want a bit more pressure for riding on the road though 👍
So my bike sometimes blows a little black smoke out and some times a little white smoke do you know what that could be from ? I just did an oil change and it’s full of oil. It sounds fine and runs fine at idle only when it gets revved up sometimes
Black smoke usually means too rich, white could be coolant burning or condensation in the exhaust if it's happening on a cold start. Was it doing the same stuff before the oil change?
@@Criscitiello it was blowing a little black smoke before the oil change and I’m just now noticing the little bit of white smoke. I’m going to change the air filter they said that could be a issue also might be clogged
Nicolas, tu sais que tu voudrais que ces années 20 soient installées sur ton fauteuil roulant pour pouvoir rouler avec style pour une fois. D’ailleurs, quand les Français ont-ils déjà connu le bon goût ?
@@969Garage The KLX is definitely much easier to ride on tighter trails but the DRZ beats it out in the open. I've only rode the DRZ two or three times but I can feel the weight difference in the slow stuff and the DRZ is a bit more prone to choking off if you're just crawling along. For just trail riding, I'd have to go with the KLX 👍
@@969Garage Shorter gearing should help, maybe try raising the idle some too. I know I have to be more ready to clutch in on the DRZ to save a stall than on my KLX. It will definitely teach you to use the clutch more than a KLX will 😅
@@lukereynolds4030 I'm 6'3" so it's kinda hard to say, you would probably be more comfortable than me when standing on the pegs but it's easy for me to put both feet on the ground when on the seat. It's a pretty light bike so I don't think the weight would be an issue for you 👍
Great video! I just picked up a new 23 KLX 300R as my first adult dirt bike! I bought it to use as a fat guy moped at the lake but this machine might open the door to a whole new hobby!
My new favorite binge series is the Derek house tours, but can we hire a cameraman so you can show yourself walking through the house talking about it, but not actually showing any detail a la Ryan Serhant. Place all of your earnings into Armani suits and roll up with the Maro & you're easily clearing 7 figures every 6 months guaranteed. Suits + car + b roll = money printer.
@@Duplexpine It's an 07, I've had it about a year and a half and it's been great so far. Could use a little more of a hit down low and a bit stiffer suspension but it's a good woods bike
@@andy3d1 The WR is definitely the most capable as far as speed and jumps go, but if you want a chill, easy to ride bike with plush suspension to cruise around on the KLX takes the cake. The DRZ was a little jerky down low (carb needs some tuning) and felt the heaviest but it is still a lot of fun out in the open.
There's a best of all worlds missing from this comparison and that is the KLX450R. It has larger oil capacity than the WR and the simplicity of the DRZ. Even in 2024 it has been left unchanged. No EFI TCS, ABS. If you ever wanted a DRZ with more power and about 20kg lighter this is the machine for you.
"It's a tough job but somebody's got to do it ! " thanks Man , great video , I'm hoping this is what dirt bike heaven will look like , I'm 75 and the KLX works just fine for me...
Value: KLX. Where I live brand new out the door 2023 leftover's are $4800. For reliability and aftermarket parts: DRZ. All around superb bike. For more serious woods riding, WR450F.
Thanks, that was helpful. I shall reject the new bike jitters and keep rockin the DRZ. I will say the Kawi looks intriguing. Nice to have property…who cuts the grass?
The DRZ is a nice bike, I would ride it more but it's my dad's and I want to keep it in good shape for him. The grass is a job and a half in the summer, I help my dad cut it when I'm not working. We use a Scag Tiger Cat with a 61" deck, it gets the job done pretty fast 👍
I have been thinking of a klx300r and was having a hard time finding a video where someone is tearing it up a bit on one to see what it can do. You have showed me it’s plenty capable. Thanks!
My 07 has been a great bike for me so far, very maneuverable in the woods, soft suspension and it will happily chug along at low rpm without stalling too easily. It's not a race bike or dedicated hard Enduro machine, but you can still try to ride it like one 😀
Omg, that's your back yard?! You're blessed brother! Btw, you might need a friend with a couple 4 wheelers and a bike to help keep the trails cleaned up 🤔. Now where to find such a friend 🙋♂️😁?! Will "work" for free 😂.
Yeah 😄 So far it's taken me about a year to cut and map out these trails, mostly just using a pair of loppers and occasionally my chainsaw. If you're in eastern NC and wanna lend a hand sometime that would be rad 😀
I'm always looking for the quarter door windows when I hear someone claiming they have a 67. Yours is nice!! My dad had one when I was young we had put a small block 400 from an Impala in it with a mild cam
Nice pass i have a 68 camaro with a 540hp pump gas 357sbc solid roller, dart heads/intake, turbo 350 with 9.5" FTI converter, and 4.56 gears. Car runs 11.4-11.5 in the 1/4 with 1.5-1.6 60 foot times. Vidros on my chanel of the car
@Criscitiello it made peak power at 7600 RPM I leave off the 2 step on the food brake at 3000 RPM and shift at 8000 RPM. Was running a 8" ATI 5500 RPM race converter but wasn't that streetable so now run a 9.5" 4200 EPM FTI street race converter it's slower with that converter but more streetable well as streetable as you cam get with a .630 lift side roller cam lol. There are plenty of videos of it on my channel
Hey there, nice trails you got. How many acres would you say the wooded trails are? I'm cutting some myself, by hand, alot of work but it's coming along. Thanks
Thanks :) There's about 30 acres of woods but I can only get through some sections of it, there are some pretty large swampy/boggy areas out here. I do 95% of my cutting with Felco 231 curved anvil loppers and the rest with a little echo chainsaw. Lots of work but it's always enjoyable and very rewarding 👍
Nice Acreage of Land. You Should Invest In a 10” Battery Chainsaw & Spade Shovel to Clean That Trail. You Would Be Amazed of What some Cleaning Could in Making It Awesome ☀️ 🌲 ~~~o}> Ride Safe
