So I also have them stored . He’s gorgeous by the way and the yarns u have are so pretty!! Tfs❤
Kudos to you for accomplishing your goal of working through all 12 weeks. Thank you for sharing your reflections and how the process will influence your future practice. I think I might build my own adapted version to get through it and you have inspired me. ❤
Well done for sticking with The Artists Way, I did it about 10 years ago and thought it was very helpful (especially when tweaked to suit me). Really enjoying your content Courtney 😊
First video I watch of yours and absolutely loving it ! Also pleaseeeee try to note when you have those idea spurts. Perhaps it might be linked to your cycle 🤭
I’m in my 3rd week of doing week one and I still haven’t finished the first week. I’m struggling with the artist date too, so I’m following your journey to see what you come up with that might interest me. I too have ADHD and struggle to remember I’ve set goal, let alone follow through on them. I don’t have a RU-vid channel but as I was watching you process your first week I wondered if I should record my “Artist Way” journey to see if it helps me stay accountable. Did recording and sharing your weeks help you stay on track?
It did and it didn't. Haha. Because I work full time I did have to take a week or two off so I wasn't totally consistent but I do think filming it helped me actually finish it! You could also use an app like Streaks to help track it. That app helps me stay motivated! Good luck and keep me posted on your journey!
This was a lovely video! To read the Japanese books you may want to use google translate app. Wherein you can take a photograph and they text will change to English 😊
We haven’t talked in years, but we used to a lot when you lived in Ferrum. These videos are special to me because it feels like it helps me keep in touch with you. I hope you’re doing well and hope to see you one day in person.
I love watching your journey with this, Courtney! I think it makes sense that some things are going to resonate and others aren't, and that things like liking the morning pages will come in waves because sometimes it's what you need and other times maybe not! I also love that my loosening up video resonated with you too!! The museum looked amazing, that dotty piece by Jennifer Bartlett really caught my eye! 🤩
I struggled with the artists dates too! I kinda want to pick them back up, but I just don't know what. Specially things that are affordable and accessible. I am outdoorsy, but my body isn't always up to that, and I'm on a tight budget. The things she listed as free or cheap really date the book ngl.
First off, HAPPY PRIDE, FAM!!!! Second, yeah a lot of the book is dated and also....privileged AF. I think the artist dates can be way more flexible than the rules allow, as written. So here's to breaking the rules or rewriting them for ourselves!
Love my Mildliners! I always assumed the "mild" was for the color saturation level (transparent-y pastels rather than full opaque colors) and "liner" cuz they're highlighters for marking lines of text. Clearly I read too far into that and therefore always called them Mildliners. 😂
A cat lover AND a watercolor lover! You're my kind of girl! 😊 Those cat stickers and pics! Stoooooop!! I can't even with the cuteness!! ❤ lol It's my dream to go to Japan someday. I love so many things about Japanese culture. The closest I've gotten is the Daiso store. 😂
OH GOD??? i needed this!!going to Japan in July and im à huge holbein fan. I have a full set and had been wanting to refill some tubes that I had wring dry. Thank you so much for this
Ideas for or the at home artists dates; • Wear the headphones and DANCE one entire song •Build a little fort or get all the pillows from the whole house and hang out in the pile of pillows for awhile •put on your fanciest clothes to do an at home thing, even heels For outside artists dates • Walk a path the opposite direction from usual •gather outside stuff to build a little statue, balancing rocks is oddly amusing •read at the library a few pages of a book you feel you won’t like with no intention of finishing it. Alternatively read the last 2/3 pages of any book
I use the outside pocket for my phone. When not strapping my molly straps to another bag I clip my A5 sketchbook to them with binder clips. I have a strap that turns the case into a crossbody.
Lovely video! I love the color combination. I'm trying to learn urban sketching so this whole process really helped and inspired me to keep working on it. Also, the cat is so cute ❤
What a great way to honor your Father. Hugs to you, and I can say from experience that it becomes easier but the grief just goes into another stage. Father’s are just special to daughters and daughters are special to their Father’s.
There have always been vendors in the Dodge Gilman building. I’ve been vending there since 2004 or 5 and used to be in that building. You did a lovely shit if my booth, thank you. Also, I think I know the band you were asking about. I’ll get back to you in that.
Wow, you did such a great job filming this festival. I have always wanted to go to this one or New York Sheep and Wool, but I live too far away. Thanks for taking me along for the ride.
I was at VT Sheep and Wool Festival on Saturday. I hadn’t been able to attend for several years so it was a lot of fun to be there once again. I also had a great deal of restraint and only made one purchase, the alpaca boot liners. They are fantastic! I’m trying to work from my yarn stash this year. Thank you for the great video footage and recap.
I told my husband before going "Ok I have about 4 lbs of BFL coming this week so I need to not buy ANY wool." ...So of course I got 1 lb of skirted Finn sheep wool from AJ's Happy Chick Farm. I had to do it. The sheep it came from (Cassiopeia) was right there baaing at me to buy her wool!
