Absolutely! I love the Longsword-- great moveset and pretty good range/damage. Zweihander is awesome too-- it's one of the faster ultra greatswords and catches people off guard. Ice rapier is always good too the damage can be insane and the R2 projectiles can catch people if they are running away or in their menu! :)
@@Radwalls yes the Zweihander is very fast, low weight, and low stat requirements only needed 12/12 to two hand. I’ve gotten SO many host kills with the poke when they are healing with estus lol
@@Radwalls what you said about the longsword is so true, it’s moveset is amazing, I’ve gotten so many kills with the 2Hand Running R1>R1>R2>R2 and stone ring. The weapon also has great 1hand R2 that roll catch everyone. The Ice Rapier is also just the best thrusting weapon, it’s special move also tracks which is crazy!
duuude!! Using blue tear stone as a way to see that you're in low health is such a good technique. I love the versatility with ways to play this game@@osmanhempwick
"Who cares about souls" in a game that has souls in the title lmao. I probably will never play dark souls, but I love watching others play and this was really interesting.
Hahaha you bring up a great point. Since there are so many rings/weapons in this game it's hard to talk in detail on why I say the things I say. In the other Dark Souls games, there's nothing wrong with gaining more souls, but in DS2 there is a mechanic called Soul Memory. The more souls you pick up, the higher your Soul Memory becomes. Typically the reason to avoid getting more souls is so that you can stay inside of a Soul Memory Tier. This allows you to play with others inside of that tier. It was a mechanic added to reduce the chance of getting invaded by extremely high level players called Twinkers, which could potentially ruin your experience. Because of Soul Memory, there was really no way for someone to go to the end of the game and invade someone who is still in the starting area with end game gear, so they sort of controversially added this Agape Ring to allow you to do just that. The quickest you can get the ring is well out of the range of starter characters, so it's not that good, but if you do rush straight for the ring, you'll be able to invade people at quite a low level. It is very well balanced in a lot of ways though because you won't be able to level up anymore than the souls you were forced to collect before you got the ring, and buying consumables is out the window. Upgrading weapons won't be possible as that requires souls too. The way it works is you put on the ring and every soul you collect goes into the ring instead of you. The description reads as: "A ring affixed with an open vessel. The vessel insatiably absorbs souls in place of its wearer, who is left unaware, even of their recollection. All things are rooted in souls, but what drives our thirst for them? Abstinence from this elixir may be the truest homage to an enduring self." Exciting stuff I know!
Hey Simon we put that one in the Rings Tier List which I just uploaded here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aB-3z2hxJu4.htmlsi=I9vq9QQ0N-NALPJO&t=1720
