Thank you so much for your help! I was honestly desperate and didn't know what to do anymore cause my filters are fairly new but probably from all the cat hair they got overly used.
Thank you so much for your vacuum cleaner repair videos. We were about to replace our Miele (slightly different model) because the motor was overheating and making an awful high-pitched noise. With nothing to lose, I decided to disassemble it following this video and see if I could spot the problem. It turns out that there was fluff and hair clogging the motor's intake and once I cleared that, it works properly again. So thank you.
Hi thank you for this as i was worried about breaking if I put too much pressure on it to push it down, just put old connection back on new hose as black and decker are a pain for connection part😊
I just started to hear some noisy and weird noise from my Dyson DC 19 - The suction is still good and cleaning - do you suggest replacing the motor now or I keep using it until death hehe !?
Very usefull video to see how to disasemble the miele vacuum cleaner. I had to solder the cords cuz it was cut off but this tutorial helped with everything else
Thank you! Your video helped me change the motor on my old DC19db, which I believe is at least 20 years old - had never changed or cleaned the filters (oops! have done now) but goes to show how hardy the old models are!
Hi, I love my Dyson DC19, I've had it years. The horror this week when it started to smoke and conked out. I like others thought of the expense of replacing it but then I came across your video. I ordered the motor that came today, £18.00 from Ebay. Your an absolute star. You made it easy to follow your instructions from beginning to end. I've never done this before and you made it stress free. I am a 63 year old woman who is very impressed with myself😁. Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH 😊👍 X
Thank you so much for the clear instructions for cleaning the brush and putting it back together. I almost took my VAX to the repair shop. I'm so glad I didn't.
Help ALEX! I have a vax 6. I took the lid off and now i cannot clip it back on properly. It seems to be "rocking" on something but i cannot figure out what. The lid has several crevices and bumps so impossible to see what is going on... appreciate any help you can offer. Thnku :(
Model A85-US-Pme If you have a brush roller activation switch next to the on/off switch (with two arrows, similar to a 'recycle' symbol) then the fault could be the microswitch situated under the purple cover. 1. Turn the power off, take out the entire dust collection assembly to access the two phillips screws just in front of the on/off switch. Remove these screws. 2. Slide the entire handle out of the vacuum cleaner by pressing down the purple adjuster. Place it to one side. 3. Next remove the purple handle adjuster by prising it away at each side using a thin screwdriver. 4. Carefully prise up the purple on/off switch cover with a thin screwdriver and place to one side. 5. Remove the single screw located under this cover securing the gray switch cover. 6. You should now be able to prise the gray switch cover up and away to expose two brown/red microswitches next to the on/off button. Use a small, electricians screwdriver all around the edges to carefully ease the cover up and away from the top of the vacuum. 7. Locate the foremost of these two microswitches. This is the the brush roller operating switch and sends power down to a circuit board just near the brush roller. Inside this microswitch is a spring loaded 'seasaw' that stays down every other press. With mine this had simply dislodged. 8. Very carefully prise open this brown microswitch at each side and lift off the top button assembly including spring and metal 'seasaw' contacts (very slowly so as not to lose the spring). 9. Check/clean/adjust/repair the connections of this switch or bypass it temporarily to prove the fault. 10. Reassemble in reverse order. Note - there is also a fuse soldered onto the circuit board just down near the roller assembly. If this has blown it can cause the same symptoms, but mine was fine.
I am not getting any power in mine, do you have a video of how to check that issue? I used to live in the UK but now I live in Portugal and they do not provide service for this type as it is too old for them. Thanks for this video
Hey great video. Probably late to the party but can I retrofit a handle with remote control on this one? I have exactly the same model S5211 and I'm talking about the handle that has a battery in it and an on off button.
I've owned my DC08 for about 16 years and I did clean the Radix once, but Never to this level. But even then, I noticed a drastic change in performance. Now that I've done it properly, I think it'll be like new. Also upgraded to Hepa Filter. thanks for the tutorials!
