The Auto Kamado could have been a great grill, but they cheaped out in the controller and the app. Also it is very leaky, so 225F is almost impossible to accomplish. Even 250F is hit and miss and we have to tinker too much to achieve that temperature, which is what this is suppossed to not require. I find that my Big Green Egg is more automatic than the Auto Kamado
Wow! Juicy chicken there and tip of the hat to Mrs. LOG for that awesome side! Tom just proved you don’t have to spend a fortune in grills to make a great meal.
Awesome cook! I would love some green bean casserole! Haven't had it in years! My family doesn't like it but I love it! You lucky dog! Cheers to your wife!
Good morning thanks for your quick reply. I always enjoy your RU-vid videos. Which one is very informative now to the issue of this grill. I say it’s like a convection oven because without that fan, it will not work efficiently ovens work the principle of the fan distributing the heat giving limited supply of circle on this is ever work without that. Have you tried cooking a steak without that fan going would probably take quite a while. It will not be efficient. That’s my thought on this grill, thanks for your videos
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ OK here is my argument about this unit. It did not need a fan to heat effectively. It is not need a fan to cook efficiently they would not have put the fan on the unit. What say you do you feel like doing a test with a piece of steak cooking with and without fan, and what did you have to do differently to achieve the same results? Thanks, Larry.
Still not convection oven Larry. By your account any grill that uses a fan would be a convection oven. So if I added a thermostatically controlled blower to Weber kettle, you would call it a convection oven. Blowers are used in all pellet smokers and can be added to an offset. I can add a smoke generating device to a gas grill that uses a blower to move smoke around but we don’t call it a convection oven. Appreciate your comments, Thanks
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ OK point taken, but you are talking about adding adding adding things to a unit that works without it this unit with such a limited source of coal and where it is located will not work without a fan. I asked you to try it without a fan and see what happens if unit did not need they would not have manufactured with it. That’s my argument with say you.
@larrysheltmire5358 Larry, don’t have the time to continue this back and forth with you. Tried my best to explain, not willing to go any further with this. Take Care…TH
Question, I just bought this and I used maybe twice and a screw accidentally was caught but I got it before it sucked it up and now it's making a loud noise and it shuts off ! Any idea what would cause it and how I can fix it? Thanks so much !
I have a commercial panini press, it’s just a bit bigger. The difference is negligible other than the size. This is a great value, for about 12% the cost of a commercial one. They can get smokey so best to use under a hood. Very nice, it’s pretty much a commercial one, that’s not NSF certified (who cares)
Looks like a beast. Do you think it can keep up with an offsets flavor and bark production If you take full advantage of the stick burner. I am looking to do 12 at a time.
Thanks for watching! I think an offset would always outperform any pellet smoker regardless of the accessories used. This setup comes close though and with less effort
Sir. I have the same ninja XL size outside smoker ..and the results for sex chicken Wing look great. HOW would u do a large pkg of chicken wings about fifteen + twenty pieces per package . I enjoy your videos well done good info. Thank u .
This thing beats the crap out of a Slow and Sear. Way more flexible in use and holds lots more charcoal... and is much less expensive to boot. I'm lovin' mine compared to my son's SnS.
Cooking with pellets and charcoal which is less expensive? Seems like there would be a taste difference. Been using pellet grill for several years now after switch from propane. Love smoking meat. In the market for a new one and looking hard at the Bullseye, but this gives review gives me pause.
