Outsider's perspective here: IT seems like the most compelling point at which Radagon was 'created' would have been either before or during Marika's marriage to the Fist Elden Lord. In the same way Hoarah Loux was made to chain his own bestial ways, so to did Marika strike the wrath from her own soul in order to purify the union. Like I said at the top, I'm an outsider here, just enjoying the stories. Still wanted to chime in, though.
Okay, so judging by what we've seen, I'm gonna throw an idea about there. Radagon was an empyrean in the land of shadow who ascended the gates of divinity. Thus, he is becoming marika, becoming a God. I'm looking to the shadowy thorns blocking our access into the erdtree as evidence, hence radagons elden rune emblazoned on them.
Since the Marika/Radagon Rebis theory seems prevalent here, this may seem like some tinfoil hat conspiracy, but since Marika is Numen, and so are the Nox (allegedly), and the Nox seem to know how to create life through Alchemy, is it possible that Marika and Radagon were merged into the Rebis in the land of shadow, where Marika became a god, and then since they were already considered perfect by order of entropy, the greater will had no issue with this. Mesmer has red hair just like the children of Radagon. So his existence predates that of all the other demigods, and this also must mean he is born of Radagon in some capacity. So it’s not possible that the Rebis theory places outside these events in this order.
It’s so insane to me that a simple story about scholars and religion in a video game can inspire people to be actual scholars and theologians to such a wild degree. It goes to show how genius the fromsoft souls stories really are.
Ngl when Messmer said "Mother, wouldst thou truly lordship sanction, in one so bereft of light?" i had shivers down my spine. But i was confused because sanction typically means to deny something. So in my mind he said "Mother, would you truly deny lordship to someone lacking wisdom". But then i did a bit of research and "to sanction" can mean to deny OR approve. So now what he really said is "Mother, would you really approve of giving authority to someone who is so lacking in wisdom?" So then comes the question, who did she give authority to? And why are they bereft of light/wisdom? Miquela is a genius, he cant be the person hes speaking about. Is he speaking about Godfrey? But then did Marika give him any say in the Wars and stuff going on?
Irythel and the abyss are linked in a round about manner. The moon, cold, and ice. In a sense, are the opposite of the sun, warmth, and flame. However ice and water are similar in nature. It’s more symbolic than actually practical. In the same sense that the painted world is one of ice than fire.
I think about the locus preachers from the DLC Time travel is a theme of darksouls sometimes. So I like to think this cleric came from the future, where the deep and locusts appear after reaching the bottom of the ringed city. Like the way of white tried to seal the future, the dark, the saint of the deep Not to mention, Aldrich and Gael did the same thing, they are people. I assume Aldrich did not just cause he liked it, but because it had something to do with the darksoul.
There is a theory that the character players play as, isnt Sun Wukong nor are they Six-Eared Macaque but instead is his spiritual descendant Sun Luzhen (Monkey Who Walks Reality) from the novel Later Journey to the West whixh takes place 200 years after the initial Journey to the West. Already i can see similarities with that and BM:W
I think that the great ones we fight are only their spirit, their consciousness, or their half. As we see from the cut content, there was a boss that looked like the moon prescence but... Destroyed, glory-less and slow, as we can see it's organs literly dragging bellow it. That is either the material body of the moon prescence, left in the chalice dungeons to be protected so that even when we kill the moon prescence it would be transported to that body, in hopes to emerge in it's former glory. Or that's the half of the moon prescence. Why? It is a lump of flesh tentacles and organs. Everything the moon prescence we fight doesn't have, as it's madee of bone.
I’m glad we’re finally getting a proper Carian Warrior Queen boss. Considering Caria’s entire schtick is that they’re masters of the blade while having a high IQ, I feel like they missed out with Rennala, considering how she gets folded like a paper plane the second you get close. I’m also super excited about the new gravity magic they showed off. It reminds me a lot of a Hunter Tether from Destiny, in how it locks the enemy in place and opens them up for big damage
Love your videos big time! Just wanted to ask you about the 10 main bosses, are they all Remembrance bosses? Because I haven’t seen anyone that can confirm it yet, they said 10 main story bosses, I’m not sure, I wanna know if you can confirm that they’re Remembrance bosses just to manage expectations.
Did you find the invader called something like 'Powderfinger Nail'? I've not seen any preview videos mention it, but was found by descending into the central river valley. He had a gun!
I have a question if you can answer please so right now I'm still on my first playthrough and I'm towards the end about to kill the Elden beast I'm afraid if I beat the alden beast I won't be able to use my same character for the DLC should I wait or will I still be able to use my elden Lord character to go into DLC? Any information will be helpful please
My gosh, just that preview makes me excited for the DLC. That Wickerman boss is far more impressive than I thought, along with that Lion Dance boss. I love the movesets of from the new weapons, and I love that certain weapons can be thrown. And if people were confused over names before, along comes Relanna. :p
When I played, my assumption was that Marika was cursed by the giants during her campaign, and essentially transmitted that curse into him with the red hair that both she and he would resent, which also expressed itself in his children, & one of which started growing to gigantic stature as he got older, learning powerful spells so he could still ride his horse that is clearly now too small for him.
Man we are so happy with all this news about elden ring dlc but at the same time I wish that all the suffering from wars stop in both Palestine and Ukraine, i am just sad that at some parts of the world people are in such terrible state..
Wait, doesn't that mean that the hallows (the ones that have lost their way) are just like the creatures before the first flame? Because, most of the time they just stay in one place, not bothering anyone or even move, except when they come in contact with the player. Meaning that the hallows have returned to their original state on existence. Meaning that the dark sign is a tool of the first flame to bring everything into the perpetual existence of living but not dying, mostly so it can die and be rebirthed. So, every hallow we see, they just returned to their original state.
Do you think faith/ strength builds will be the way? I think it makes sense lore wise as mesmer seems to be sent by Marika and is of the golden lineage, as well as the fact the miquilla developed many of the faith based incantations!
idk if anyone would still see the comments for this video, but i think a candidate for the gloam-eyed queen's shadow is gurranq himself, similar to marika's own dual personality between herself and radagon. it seems more like maliketh *becomes* gurranq, and futher from himself even as you give him more death root. the maliketh you see as gurranq is not simply maliketh with a cloth over his head at least, and with the close relationship between the gloam-eyed queen and marika's inverted symbols, it makes some sense that their shadows would be closely related as well. also, the erasure of the gloam-eyed queen's shadow completely from history doesn't make a lot of sense- unless it's just been overwritten. nobody talks about the shadow of the gloam-eyed queen gurranq (other than vague mentions of him being "the death of demigods") because he is just a weird beast clergyman for as long as anyone can remember? even going further, it could explain how maliketh got such an upper-hand on the gloam-eyed queen and the godskin apostles by himself. he's definitely strong but like, that is a lot. maybe it was similar to radagon leaving rennala in order for the golden order to finally beat the carian family they never could beat by force. just an idea i had while watching this
