@@pauljohansen8043 yes, I know this. I do am a content creator. But these were Tweets though and it was from out of town folks. Hence the out of town stupid.
@@Iridescence93 if by the negative tone around the team, you don’t need to apologize then as I acknowledge this. The team seems to have broken my positivity.
@@LockedOnWhiteSox I admit as a non-White Sox fan I'm attracted to some of these videos by the trainwreck aspect but I know the Sox have some good passionate fans and long and storied history and you guys deserve a lot better than this team. I sincerely hope they are able to turn it around.
Saying they were historically bad because of the AL Central might be the stupidest sports take I’ve heard in a very very long time. They didn’t lose to the Central…(checks notes) 121 TIMES! Whoever wrote those articles are complete morons.
@@rowdybobjr4080 how did I knock the division? The Royals and the Tigers did benefit from playing the Sox. I cite the Royals and Tigers record without the Sox. I said all three teams are good (well the Tigers are on an epic heater)
@@LockedOnWhiteSox I didn't mean you. I actually haven't watched this video yet. It was a generic comment for the chat. My apologies for the confusion. I really enjoy your content.
Your favorite Marlins fan here again. Of course, I'm a Tito Francona fan - homegrown Expo, excellent manager, great guy. Schumaker is also a good guy and I wish him the best. 2023 was a unicorn season, especially the one-run W-L record was stunning. Maybe fine pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre, Jr. will join also. Good package deal for the Sox.
No increased player salaries. No free agents. $40 lower deck tickets. $30 upper deck tickets. No selling of the franchise. A six-year rebuild riddled with 650 losses. Moving to Nashville if the $3 billion stadium deal falls through.
Vaughn Is terrible defensively. He exhibits Ed Herrmann speed on the bases. He's now a 4 year veteran who hasn't shown year to year improvement. He's OK offensively, but not good numbers for a #3 overall pick. I'm on board with moving on and giving Tim Elko a chance.
1992 was two years prior to jerry reinsdorf leading mlb owners in a hard line stance against the players union, leading to the 1994 strike that cancelled a world series, washed away impressive seasons by the white sox and expos, and turned off lots of americans to baseball cementing it as a much less popular sport than football or basketball. So he didnt just screw up the white sox. So the idea that reinsdorf new a lot about the business of th game in 1992 is hard to believe
Jose Quintana Starts for the Mets today. Carlos Rodon, Michael Kopech,Dylan Cease, Reynaldo Lopez and Chris Sale/Back Spasms. Are in the playoffs for 2024. Good Job Jerry Reinsdorf 🚫👎🤡❌😝💩
Her defense for pushing back on being critical of players making millions was terrible. Money is relative, so just because they make millions, doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be validated, because “They’re people too”… total bs…how about a bit of perspective. Some of these dudes make more in a series than some folks make in a year. I wouldn’t tell the public to get some perspective on the player’s feelings, I’d tell the disgruntled player to get some perspective on where he is and what he’s been blessed with…. and yeah, stop complaining.
I use to be an avid fan , but after(?) 2012 it's been tough. My older brother usually calls me to go to 2 games every year , but this last ,NO MORE . REINSDORF WON'T GET 1 PENNY . UNTIL THEY'RE COMPETITIVE, WINNING TOO, I'M NOT COMING INTO THE PARK . 5:05
The talk is they really want to move to Tennessee since the hissy fit they threw for a new stadium didn’t work and Tennessee seems to be not bright enough to say no to this crap franchise
He’s not going to sell , but maybe he can hire a seasoned general manager , then step aside and let him do his/her job.Write the checks only , give this person complete freedom.
Problem is he can't help himself. He'll promote from within the organization because seasoned vets are expensive, and he just can't keep himself from meddling
Tell that to white sox fans everytime they got the team. Most unknown additions never make the team. I don't want anymore 100 lost seasons. We've had near 5 in the last dozen years. 5 , 100 LOST SEASONS!!!!!!!!. Not 2 to 3 more
Never been much of a heckler, except for lack of effort. Sadly, it's every game I have seen this year. Oogling an assumed HR that results in a single. Of course, not running out a ball, then a fielder bobbles. Being out for lollygagging deserves contempt. Otherwise, I tend to be supportive in person.
I can relate to Di’s father. My wife occasionally says to me “youre such a negative person” To which I reply “Of course Im a negative person. Im a White Sox Fan!!!”
I wouldn’t mind seeing Gavin Sheets as starting 1B(pls remove him from OF) with Vaughn as starting DH. Sheets does a bit better with a glove at 1B than Vaughn. White Sox don’t have a ton of 1B prospects.
While the Wsox aren’t necessarily thin on position player prospects, if the Wsox were to trade GC, they must ask for 2 quality hitting prospects(preferably OF prospects) plus a mid-low tier pitching prospect.
People say the Sox ruined Vaughn, but ironically, because of his sub par bat, his best bet to stick in the bigs is to play left, right, first and third.
And who gets to play 1B if Vaughn and Sheets are sent away or released? Vargas, of course! Ramos moves to 3B and brings a better bat and a better glove. Vargas is Chrissy's pet screwup. He is the guy we traded Kopech to the LAD for, the guy with the magic bat that would hit HR's at #4....Unfortunately, Vargas just doesn't have it in the Majors while he kills AAA pitching. He is a true 4A player and that is why the LAD traded him to someone crazy enough to take him, Chrissy........Vargas moves to 1B where he can stink up the joint until Chrissy admits that he made a mistake trading for Vargas and DFA's him to haunt some other organization or country. And that time can't come soon enough....Same with Robert Jr who had a horrible year and damaged his value with his never ending injuries and streaks of K's. Besides, he wants out. Give it to him. Get young hitters and keep Crochet....If Chrissy trades him then we will lose 110 games in 2025. 11 game improvement just what Jerry wants. Cheap and less embarrassing.........
I understand your interest in metrics and it makes all kinds of sense. Let's look at cost cutting in a simpler way, though. Why not simply waive the ten players with the lowest playing time? Considering your "replacement level" standard, all ten players are probably below that level because they are on an 121-loss team. As to pitchers, use lost leads and blown saves as the standard. My guess is you could easily cut half the team just with these three standards, then promote from within.
@@JamesFranklin-hd4tm that doesn’t even make any sense if you are trying to argue against metrics. You literally have a way to measure a players value in terms of winning and producing runs. Use that method because umm, that is usually what 29 other teams do.
@@LockedOnWhiteSox I'm not necessarily arguing against metrics. I'm new to the show, a longtime Reds fan who picked up on the White Sox. And believe me, Reds management is little better than the White Sox. In fact, I have MORE confidence in your current regime than the one in Cincinnati. Keep doing the good work, it's all very interesting.
I don't think the solution to our horrible record is to get rid of last years best hitter. Additionally, I don't think blaming the only remotely serviceable hitter on the team is correct. Bennentendi is getting three times the salary and don't even get me started on Moncado. A 26 year old Andrew Vaughn isn't the problem.
@@mickbutler4372 I didn’t say he was a problem. I am saying there is a case to move on. Moncada is gone. Benintendi actually hit better once Pedro was gone
Moncada had 2 abs the other being a critical ab playing Angels in Anaheim during extra innings. Struck out which was critical to the Sox achieving their goal of 121 losses.
Don’t know about moving on from Vaughn I would like to see him with some dependable bats around him. Up to this point the only bats around him broke or pulled something running to 1st base!
I'm retired, so there's time to watch lots of baseball and related podcasts. Your "getting better on the margins" is not frequently posited, although it makes sense for many teams. Further, it is not sexy, but thoroughly realistic, to examine such moves vis-á-vis payroll management. These things will happen in front offices. Fans understandably long for big-time FAs, but those massive deals are not forthcoming for our teams (most teams), nor are these deals particularly successful. The Marlins obtained Bell to add "around the margins" (and clear the horrendous Segura contract, as well). Bell was a significant part of the 2023 unicorn season for the Marlins, snaring a playoff spot out of the blue, and cementing Skip Schumaker's managerial prowess in his first season. More to the somewhat similar situation, the Marlins finally bit the proverbial bullet and cleared the deadwood (Avi Garcia, Cueto, Anderson), which is hard for a low-revenue team. I know the White Sox have ownership obstacles - so do the Marlins - but at least there is a lot more money in the pipeline.
@@anthonykosinski2390 not after seeing him produce basically the same numbers for three years. What has he done that makes anyone think he will be just a floor guy. If you want to pay six million for that fine.
@maverick1956hk In what world is he a good first baseman? You need to watch more baseball. And sure, he was able to improve his hitting after the season was completely over and nobody gave a crap about the Sox to become a replacement level hitter. He's a first baseman that can't hit the ball in the air or draw walks, has a below average glove, and is not smart on the bases. He stinks bro
@@johantrenier1685 He's 39th out of 42 qualified first baseman in defensive runs saved and 41st out of 42 in outs above average. He's absolutely horrible in the field.
The way they brought Crochet along it would be extremely stupid to trade him now. The bad thing was limiting his pitch count put a lot of strain on a bullpen that was not real good. They keep developing players with great potential then trade them for so called prospects who end up being suspects. Notice that the players they recently traded got much better namely Kopech, Bummer, Cease & Reynoldo Lopez.
