Hello, and welcome to my channel! So nice to see you!
My name is Anatole; since I was young, I've loved to travel, and the hotel was always my favorite part of every trip. I've turned that passion for hotels into a RU-vid channel. Join my friends and I as we review hotels and their amenities, and go on trips. Hotel reviews are the main focus here, but I am always working on adding more to the list of things I do here!
Is it something of interest to you? Please consider joining the adventure today and subscribing! (Thank you for your consideration)
I actually stayed here for MFF 2023! All the hotels around the con are a bit dated, but the rooms here were updated fairly recently and the location wasn't too far from the Hyatt and con center. The suites were definitely overkill for my friend and I but who doesn't like extra room in their hotel. They were even nice enough to give me one of the custom MFF keys to keep when I checked out, so I really can't complain about this place. Next time I go to MFF I'd have no problems staying here again. Your kind words are appreciated and thanks for watching!
@Anatole2201 oh wow! I was worried about how far it was from the con but it from the sounds of it, I don't have much to worry about, thank you again for the extra info!
While I understand your interest in this aspect of hotel accommodations, I am unable to provide detailed reviews of bathrooms due to privacy concerns and personal preference. I believe that it is important to respect the privacy of hotel guests and avoid sharing potentially sensitive information. Additionally, I personally find public bathrooms to be uncomfortable and prefer not to focus on them in my reviews. I appreciate your understanding and encourage you to explore other resources for information on hotel bathroom facilities. Thank you for understanding.
2024 update: It appears that we caught this hotel right before it got renovated, as in December 2023 the hotel began its renovation and finished earlier this year. Photos show a much nicer and more inviting hotel, and gone are the older designs of the late 2000s. It was certainly a nice last look at an older Hampton Inn like the ones which were prevalent in the 2010s, and I love catching hotels in these interesting transition phases as they await change like this. It also appears that despite these renovations, the hotel still averages out at $80-90 a night.
I stayed here in 2017, the hotel rooms appear to be renovated. What side was this in? Also when did they start charging extra for the fitness center and pool? When i stayed it wasn't like that. I'd also like to mention that this was not a great hotel in my opinion. The mattress I had was one of the worst at the time. I may try this place again at some point but I prefer staying downtown when I come to DC, but the Metro station is a great thing to have, and the location is mediocre. It wasn't bad but I don't see myself staying here again
This room was in the West promenade, as discussed in the video. Many upscale hotels will charge for access to amenities like the fitness center/resort pool, and this property brands itself as a resort, so this is not too out of the ordinary. I did not experience any issues in regards to the mattress or sleep quality in my room, but the hotel has many more rooms than a normal Omni, and mattresses, like everything else, do wear out and require eventual replacement, if I recall the ones in my room were fairly new. Location-wise, I found it to be nice, out of the craziness, and it was also so safe that you could walk around at midnight with no worries of any crime happening. Although I probably would not stay at this hotel again since I work for a hotel company that competes with Omni for what was needed, it served me and, by extension, my family well, and if I, for any reason, had to return, I would not be against it.
This property does not have free parking. You can valet on property for $40 a night with in/out privileges or park in the garage across the street for a $10 flat rate per night with no in/out privileges.
The apple silicon computers all run video and photo editing software much better than anything else I’ve ever seen. Mine can smoothly run resolve and render video on the battery and it only drops maybe 4 percent at the maximum, and charging is also super fast so there’s not much downtime. I personally use Pixelmator pro for all my photo editing, it is a paid app but it’s a one time payment and it’s very capable.
So far the finish has been holding up well and hasn’t gotten worn like the edges of my old space grey MacBook which eventually wore to the point where it was silver on every edge and the palm rests both were discolored in the center, I’ll keep you posted if that begins to occur on the new Mac. The finger print resistance is definitely better too, though it’s not immune and you will still need to clean it occasionally. Personally I love the new finish, I like how dramatically it changes depending on the light, and I it fits my taste and has that ”pro” feeling. If you’re after something that will hide fingerprints and won’t wear out too fast, silver is probably the way to go.
Even though I’m not a Furry, I always found the “FurCons” Fursuit Conventions cool in My personal opinion. (It takes a lot of courage to open up about any topic that You’re interested in and knowing that it can get judged for by ignorance in Our society. If anyone think You’re weird for being a “furry,” They don’t fully understand You.) This was a fun little vlog, even though this is day 1/3 of the videos from the Con. Cant wait to see more!
I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the video and I hope to get the others out soon! Your kind words are also appreciated and definitely true. I knew there was the risk of some people not being fully on board with these choices, but my hobbies and interests have changed a lot over these past few years and it was finally time to bring them to the channel, and overall I’m glad to see most people have had a positive response to it all. Your continued support is appreciated and thanks for watching! -A
Personally I recommend the Jadewaters tower since it is newly renovated and overall nicer than the atrium side, but both rooms will still be nice and up to Hilton standards. Do note there is a bit of bias though since I do work for Hilton so take it as you will.
With larger hotels generally they are planned out and built to accommodate a full house every night, meaning you get more elevators, front desk workstations, and bigger restaurants that are all overkill for what's needed. The Anatole is no exception, there's never a line for the elevators, and ever since their mod they've never been better.
Incredibly fancy property. Btw, it's been such a long while and I'm aware your birthday is coming in one month. So I have something coming up for you for this day. Again, it's good to be back to watching your new content
I'm glad to hear that you had a great stay and enjoyed the hotel. It is truly a beautiful property and certainly one of a kind. Glad to hear you enjoyed the video as well! -Anatole
The elevator situation in this hotel, as a whole, left a lot to be desired. Though generally, I expect this in lower-rise properties, the staff said these are about to be upgraded, so they'll get the work they've needed for a while.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they replaced those piles of shit within the next 10 years. They’re all pretty worn down and during my stay all of them seemed to be pretty worn out. The car only going to 5 was just going all the way up, violently stopping, then went back down to stop at a floor, and later was taken out of service. Of all the Omni hotels I’ve stayed in, this and the Shoreham are the ones with the worst elevator service
I've received some messages regarding where all the elevator videos went. I am not currently in a position where I can go into details on why I removed them, but I hope to be at some point in the future. I will make a community post once I am clear to go over why.
