I heard this song in smash for the first time today and thought it was a sonic song only for a split second man if only Mario games had more songs like this Sonic does it really well
great video. i despised this character for a long time,so i wanted to try and understand her more. Her actions and personality make a lot more sense now and yeah it’s pretty tragic ☹️
it's honeylune ridge: escape and the part at 2:03 doesn't happen in the original song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please get the audio from the actual game or something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I HATED this girl when I first played the game and desperately wanted her to get killed off..but when it actually happened…I honestly felt some despair. Especially after analyzing her more closely. Thanks for this video!! It was amazingly thorough.
i never hated hiyoko, but i did dislike her a bit at first because of the bullying. but when i found out more about her character, i could see a bit of myself in her. i started to understand her better and now i actually kin her. i do also struggle with independence because of my family and try to push people away to try to be more independent. i did this a lot more in the past but i still do it now quite often. overall this was a very good video! i enjoyed it a lot, thanks for making it :D
I personally don't like Hiyoko but I respect your opinion. Personally my biggest problem with her is that she's hardly expanded on. She tried becoming a better person but got killed off short after. I think she could've had a similar progression as Fuyuhiko. So for me at least what brings her character down I'd mist potential. But hey, I'm just giving my piece. If you like her that's ok, and I'm not here to change your mind.
i love you (platonically) for respecting people’s opinions you disagree with, but it’s not hiyoko’s fault that she got killed off early. i personally just don’t think that you should dislike her because of something spike cunsoft did that shouldn’t have happened. it’s not hiyoko’s fault & it honestly seems like a faulty reason to dislike her. sorry if this is coming off as rude.
@@erraticZeitgeist You're not being rude your just giving your opinion. Then again though it's not like danganronpa is a hidden camera show. It's entirely up to the devs on what happens to each character. Yeah it's not her fault that she died but it's something that spike chunsoft I'm assuming had full control over, and could have replaced her with someone like Sonia who does very little to progress the plot. Then again though that would probably ruin Mikans motive. Once again though I'm not going to take it personally. You do you!
@@Yes-mt4zj i completely agree on the sonia part! she has never done anything very important to the plot. i also feel like she’s overrated. she treats kazuichi just how byakyua treats toko but nobody says anything about that & praises her for it, however they hate byakyua for his interactions with toko. obviously kazuichi & toko aren’t helpful because they’re both very pervy towards their love interests.
OH MAN WHAT A GOOD SONG, i HOPE that NO OTHER SONG OWNED BY ANOTHER COMPANY IS CALLED *Lead The Way* otherwise THAT COMPANY WOULD BE *SCREWED* [searches up Lead The Way in 2021] OH-[F-WORD] YOU DISNEY! LET THAT SONG- [shows Disney a CEASE & DESIST]. That speaks for itself DOESN'T IT!?
Yikes please don't compare Mikan's past to Hiyoko, Mikan definitely has one of the worst if not the worst backstories in the entire series. Poor Mikan. Hiyoko has her father who actually cares and Mikan has nobody, nothing but physical, emotional, and implied sexual trauma.
I think it's quite comparable. Hiyoko grew up in an environment where everyone was out to get her, she was deprived of consistent contact of the father whom she loved and forced into an role that destroyed her social, emotional, and practical development. Said role gave her nothing but negative attention; Her fans are described by Nagito in 2-1 as a bunch of creeps, and members of her clan try to usurp her position as heir by going as far as to try killing her for it. You're right that her father is a positive role model in her life, but he's one she was forced to depart from which didn't do wonders for her mental health, especially considering the one person she's able to trust exists to deprive her of any and all essential life skills. You're left with a girl plagued with paranoia and symptoms of abandonment clinging all of her pride onto the one thing she's good at, her talent, to prevent herself from feeling complete shame over her utter incompetency in every other aspect; Shunning everyone away out of fear of betrayal by the only means she knows how in spite of how lonely she feels; Knowing full well that this attention she's cultivated is to blame for her problems.
Hiyoko's behaviour is a result of strong paranoia first and foremost. Her sour attitude is her effort to come off as an individual who's as unapproachable as possible. She doesn't want to be seen as nice or friendly, and will try to correct this perception if she catches herself acting that way, or if anyone else calls her those things. We see instances of this a few times throughout the game. This demeanour isn't exactly a mask akin to the one Fuyuhiko puts up in the first two chapters of DR2, and more-so a defence mechanism formed out of paranoia. Hiyoko insults whoever the fuck she wants whenever the fuck she wants. I don't think she's putting too much thought into who should be insulted next; she'll be cruel to almost everyone when the opportunity presents itself, as it helps cut off any of those annoying weaknesses like feelings of friendship as early as possible. Because Hiyoko herself is so weak to that feeling, as I think was made clear during Nekomaru's sacrifice.
