Dang, this video is almost a year older than I am, and my family and I go to Kings Island every few weeks or so every summer. Diamondback is honestly the most relaxing ride there, so much floater-airtime. Thanks for sharing the vid!
I love this show,i watched it alot on online,i like it,i am not happy they made a horror movie on these beloved characters, public domqin and such always ruins everything
I don't recognize that water ride at :46. We visited every summer, so it must have been short-lived. By the theme it looks like it would have been in the Oktoberfest section, maybe?
That ride was Gulliver's Rub-a-Dub and its an oft-forgotten ride that was in The Happy Land of Hanna-Barbera. I actually made a full video about its history a couple years back that explains its full history! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wJk81sj5zSs.htmlsi=jkAkDTU6J9LN3rs5
@@KingsIslandHistory Ok, it existed for longer than I thought. It's starting to ring a bell. I remember seeing that façade now, but we never rode it, and I'm thinking it's because we thought of it as a ride for really little kids. Thanks for jogging my memory.
A coworker and I walked down the tracks to the house in the fort when we worked on Whitewater Canyon in the 90s. The house was dilapidated back then, I can only imagine what a wreck it is now. There were old cases of beer from the 70s strewn about. Somebody partied in there. You could climb the towers on the fort but the platforms were covered in raccoon poop. If you look down from the Eiffel Tower towards the fort you can just see the house's roof.
Thank you for posting this! Like so many others this was definitely one of the neatest and coolest rides. As a kid in the 70s & early 80s I was always fascinated how this ride worked. Does anyone have any behind the scenes info about the mechanics of how it all worked. I'm assuming the props were at partially pneumatic? I remember it feeling so cool in there on a very hot summer day normally! Very refreshing!
Cartoon friends with funny faces, Jinx and those little meece he chases, Ant Hill Mob, the Wacky Racers, live in my TV! I'm friends, with Fred who yells out: Yabba Dabba Dabba Doo! bosom Buddy Barney too, and Scooby Dooby where are you? I love, that mumblin' bear. I laugh at him until I hurt and when its, Banana Splits you don't eat them for dessert! Bristle Hound is not a stranger, he saves Lambsy when in danger. Yogi Bear outsmarts the ranger all in my TV. Those happy friends who live in my TV!
They need to bring the western seenery back like it was back in the 70's the train ride was worth riding then I rode the train in 2015 and I was very disappointed
I remeber riding this when I was growing up. It's sad to see it gone, But progress is always in motion. Maybe something more modern will return some day.
The song is so catchy and upbeat and uplifting. You just can't stay mad or upset when this plays in your head. It's like the song that never ends.( Now that will start playing in your head)
Diamondback is entering its 15th anniversary, so maybe the next time I go to KI in April, I can start at the queue where it started in the video and walk it, all the way to the entrance of diamondback, just to see how long of a wait it was.
I believe that the park released it on an exclusive DVD for coaster enthusiasts years ago. It was ripped and uploaded to old fan websites, like KIExtreme
I like Susie she’s cute and she and Fleegle would’ve made great b.f.f’s in my opinion. (Not a ship) And I wanna know what her actress is doing right now today? Did she found out that the four loveable and cute characters got turned into a terrible childhood ruining killer animatronics in the horror movie and criminals in jellystone? And when I first saw the jellystone versions of the banana splits in the jellystone trailer it like hypnotizes you thinking that the banana splits are good guys in jellystone. But in reality you just been trolled. Just like clicking on a link thinking it’s a special event happened but it’s a rick roll instead............ Also did you know that Fleegle and drooper are cousins and not a couple. Well I didn’t know until I saw a comment on a RU-vid video of a banana splits 2008 dear drooper short but I can’t remember what it’s called. And another example is that of a double d from Ed edd and eddy meme about facts and it said Fleegle and drooper are cousins not a couple. (Sorry Fleegle and drooper shippers if I’m h0m0p0bic but I’m not h0m0p0bic at all)......... Also one of The 2008 banana splits shorts was featured on a dvd opening of scooby doo and the samurai sword. No wonder why shaggy has been extra pissed off and been ultra instinct lately. because warner bros ruined the banana splits in the banana splits horror movie and jellystone!........... Y'know, puppy dogs in France in 1951 had a........ UGH!!!!! Why am I making a angry video game nerd dr Jekyll and mr Hyde nes revisited reference on a banana splits video?
This is back from the days when Kings Island was in the cornfields of Warren county in the middle of nowhere. I worked in rides at Kings Island back through the 1980s, they had cameras set up to watch people riding and some of them were quite entertaining.
I didn't realize that was the Banana Splits' park. I was there, sometime in the 90's. I think it had a Top Gun ride. It was a pretty nice park. It wasn't as big as Cedar Point, but it was far less crowded. I only vaguely remember the special. I only saw it once. I don't even remember the channel it was on. I really didn't pay attention to the TV schedule, until newspapers started printing a separate TV schedule in a magazine format. I didn't normally read the newspaper.
Can you imagine if they adopted her and all the banana splits became her dad that would be cool for a recurring character in the show or she grew up. She buy a new house and move next-door to the banana splits. It’s become a recurring neighbor into her surprise. She remember seeing that when she was a little girl, and she be like wow they have an age at all can you imagine if they had kids in their shows that got adventures with the banana splits or have kids live with them
The Brady Bunch in 1973 filmed an episode at King's Island amusement park. Episode titled "The Cincinnati Kids." Which was a play on the 1965 Steve McQueen classic film The Cincinnati Kid.
Here’s something in which I thought I would never ever see happen. The Banana Splits speaking live at Kings Island Park. It does remind me a lot of The Banana Splits opening and closing scenery though. By the way, is Susie secretly on of The Sour Grape Girls?
too young to have ever experienced it. a very hard to describe yet sad feeling where i wish i couldve lived earlier to see it. i love hanna barbera and yet its classic shows predate myself my 40-50 years. the only thing to get the experience of these great characters is rewatching the few clips on youtube and collecting the scarce memorabilia
