Further, this machine can cut very hard tough materials like tungsten and titanium. The limitations are its cost compared to CNC machines and job must be electronically conductive.
I will explain this machine. We have a brass wire moving at say 5m/s (guessing here) and many electrical sparks generated between it and the job(work). The liquid medium is deionised water. At no time does the wire touch the job. The end result is erosive wear of the job leaving an excellent surface finish. The job can be erosively machined in 3D. Machine cost $10,000 from China. All this info was from the Internet. I do not work in the industry but am a Metalwork teacher. HAVE I HELPED ANYONE. The machine is an EDM machine short for ElectroDeposition Machine.
