I have a passion for sneakers that turned into a successful business along the way. I’ve created this channel to help other sneaker heads keep their sneakers looking best.
I’ll be covering authentication, deep cleaning, restoration and many more topics so be sure to subscribe and share
Just search for herringbone or chevron sole sheets. You’ll also need to cut foxing, use shoe lasts, expect that the structure will need repair once they are apart. At the time of responding I charge $200 for the job (same price as when I did it for the brand)
You are very lucky, I have more than 50 spare gunmetal spikes. It’s actually the only color I have enough of to say yes, I have some spares if you need. My email is Dan@authenticdetective.com
If you purchased the item from a store they will have your info in the computer and all you have to do is ask for a replacement spike. If you purchased them used, you can still ask CL. If you speak with someone nice they may help. Otherwise go to resale platforms, there are usually some for sale
I’ve removed all the spikes/bases before but it leaves marks and holes/tears so I wouldn’t recommend it unless there’s already some major spike/base loss. Much easier to sell them and purchase a pair without them.
@@restoreandconquer1464 ah thanks for replying would of been much easier than the method I used I cut it off with a coping saw 🤣 got it off tho without damaging the shoe though.
@@restoreandconquer1464 Hey bro, I need to buy one spike as soon as possible! My brother will kill me if I dont find that one spike tu buy, can i buy it from you?
Do you have any advice for black midsoles? Some pair have almost a shiny black to the midsole rubber and I was wondering if there was a way to buff out the scuff marks
I’ve only got one pair of Lou Mix and I was sad to see it didn’t come with replacements for these more unique “spikes.” One of mine fell off and I was able to get a replacement without too much effort, so I’ll be putting that on later … thanks for the tips!
@@vidcilic9145 In my situation, I still had the original receipt and I had to reach out to Louboutin support… it took a little while but someone reached out asking for several specific pictures of the shoe and receipt and asked a few questions… I think it was a couple weeks but then they sent a set of the spikes in the exact color to my house. If the spike you lost was fairly generic, there might be resellers or people on eBay selling them individually… I have extra spikes for basically all of my shoes (they came with then in the box)
Great tips!! I’ve got quite a few Louboutin sneakers now and after all this time a spike has finally come off one of them… thankfully I have the extras that came with them because lord knows where it fell off at 😂
Acetone is both your friend and your enemy 😂 If the yellowing has gone beyond what a normal wipe down can save, that’s basically the only way I know too!! But 100% you have to be careful letting it touch anything else at all!
