This is so beautiful. A child that feels so lost thinking he's the reason his loved ones lost their prized leader. Then hearing stories about that leader, trying to be like her, but never being able to because he is NOT her, he's steven. And then he learns that this woman wasn't all that perfect, she hurt so many people and left all the pain behind for him to deal with alone. The scene outside the hospital where he stares sk longingly at connie reconciling with her mom f*cking breaks me. He's clutching one of the few objects she left behind for him. A sword, not love or kindness, not protection like connie's mom, no, a damn sword, a weapon. And then he gives in, when white pulls out his gem, he doesn't fight back, because he propably thinks this is what they want, homeworld wants pink, the crystal gems want rose, but then steven shows up, showing him proof that he is not his mom, he's always been steven. And "he is better than her" as bismuth says. Because he is not childish anymore like her. He is truely selfless. Holy shit i love this show
@@puddimilk1351 thank you! I just love Steven's character, and I feel like he gets unfairly hated and flanderized in common media all the time. So I'm really thankful to you for making a genuinely good and well intentioned video about the character hehe
I kiIIed him, i knew him but i never met him, I loved him he was me and i was him i didn't know who he was, for now he is just a burning memory, i cry and cry wishing the flams will fade out, but, i hear story's of the Great and good he did, but i took that away i made the world a little less happier i should just move on, but I don't deserve to. Fly high big bro Castle of the Great 2005-2014
the character arc of steven starting with "silly little magic boi who thinks his powers will appear through eating ice cream sandwiches" evolving into "son of one of the four space tyrants, has to deal with the mess his mother left behind" is absolutely insane. i love how even though this fictional world is filled with hardcore sci-fi stuff, each one of the character feels so unique and real. i just want to give steven a very big hug, he deserves it🥺
Not to mention they didn’t just fix his life after he made peace in space. He literally had a series of mental breakdowns due to his childhood trauma then turned into a monster and decided to move out
Chapter 129 synopsis: “Ciel comes home only to find his long lost twin brother is back from alcatraz prison and demands a rematch at rock paper scissors” (This was lk lazy, please forgive ☺️🙏) I’m thinking of making a video essay on black Butler if anyone is interested!
That's fair. I did notice people began to really hate her after the pink diamond reveal, and especially after Spinel. I also think a lot of the things she did are incredibly shitty. That's why in the edit I wanted to focus instead on the feelings that Steven has towards his mother throughout the series.
@@puddimilk1351i think the reason is we just didn’t see enough of her to truly judge we just saw her absolute best actions and absolute worst i truly don’t know how i feel about her but overall I don’t blame her after all she was kinda just a teenager (or at least resembled one) and had to take on ALL of those responsibilities
Hey, thanks for commenting! I made this ages ago. I’ve been thinking of remaking it or maybe doing a new one now that I’ve improved my drawing. I’m glad you enjoyed it :)
