Here in mid-town Kansas City this song might be a bit too relevant, but I still love it. When I play this song in my head I hear a man with a much deeper voice sing it. Anyone hear it differently?
waylon's wife and one of the few female "outlaws", she achieved immortality by appearing on wanted! the outlaws alongside with waylon, willie and tompall.
LOVE Jesse singing any of her brilliant songs. She has such a unique style voice that no one shall ever be able to duplicate. @ she is also a beautiful looking lady .Even now aged 80 years old @ got married on th 14th of February 2023 to Airlin Harpin. They sing great together. I wish Jesse Colter every HAPPINESS with her new husband .She ABSOLUTELY deserves being happy AGAIN. KINDEST REGARDS ELIZABETH SCOTLAND ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂
I grew up with 7 older sisters and I was just 14 or 15 years old when I heard this song.. I've always loved it lol.. I'm almost 60 and still listening to it Thanks for keeping it going 👍❤️
Not bad, but I'll take three dog nights version over any version of the song including Steve's. Chuck knocks it out of the ballpark. The ending can't be beat
So..is this a cover of a female singer ? I love the song,but it's odd,that a band of boys,to play on these lyrics ! Somebody..clear the things for me ?
I have listened to this track so many times and it absolutely amazing .. I can’t imAgine how many times these artists must learn and practise these songs to have such an emotion to produce an end product with such feeling and sadness … if you get what I mean . It’s from the heart which is a skill in itself x
I can''t stop singing "Sugar Man"....Kris at any age or stage in his career has magic in his voice and lyrics that is unsurpassed in any music genre'. Even such newer albums like "Closer to the Bone" and songs like "Wide AWake and Feelin' Mortal" are filled with meaning and heart. Will love this man's work forever!

My wife left me in summer. August 28th. I should say my beautiful bride of 47 years did not leave me she was stolen away by cancer. It is so hard being half of what you used to be. I miss her so.
I'm so very sorry for your loss. I am struck by the words you used: " It is so hard being half of what you used to be". What a lovely sentiment. I hope you're doing well and that you find a new normal, in order to help you function. Let's face it, we don't ever get over the death of a loved one, we just move through the grieving process, at our own pace. " With all its' sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy".
My wife of 53 years left this world on Nov 28, just at the start of the Christmas season. When she died, half of me died also. Now I'm just existing, Sadness and Loneliness are my constant companions. That song by Joan "you were my spring, my summer too, it's always winter since I lost you describes me perfectly
