I love making videos! Most of the time you'll find me behind a camera or directing a brand spot for one of our clients at Berad Studio... but when I'm not producing work for clients, I'm making content for fun!
RU-vid is my favorite platform to learn, engage and connect with other creatives, so I'm jumping in to join the world of content creators here.
I also love documenting life in stills over on Instagram. If you like that kind of thing too, let's connect! instagram.com/bradwatanabe I sometimes tweet things too: twitter.com/bradwatanabe

I purchased an luxrul bag in 2022, and I can confirm that it is very high quality. The owners were very nice, too! I may purchase another bag from them the next time!
Amé la entrevista, este año empecé a crear videos y contenido con IA y ver los videos de Tyler en el canal de civitai me ayudaron un montón en aprender a cómo usar y entender este nuevo software
I did, but liked saw a lot of chromatic aberration in a lot of the test footage. I was able to try a pre production model of these Laowa Rangers and loved the way they handle light. Thanks for the question. What are you looking for in a cinema zoom lens?
@@BradWatanabe I purchased a dzo 35-80, wasn't sure if I made a mistake lol. I'm currently working on commercials and doc work, so a mix between clean or clinical I guess some would say. A bit of character, but not too much.
I don’t have an FX6, but they worked on Vista Vision V-Raptor, so they’ll cover the Sony FF sensor. You’ll just need a real sturdy PL (or EF) mount adapter.
Definitely worth it based on what I’m seeing here! As a solo op this would’ve helped me a lot at a recent conference shoot - but I have a soft spot for my Tokina primes. I can definitely see this in the future though. Any chance you’ll test out the new laowa anamorphic zooms? Excellent video as always 😎
Yo! Things are going well. Enjoying my kids these last few months! Delivered our third right before the holidays so getting used to the sleepless nights again, haha. Slowly churning out YT content here and there, and ramping back up into the video space. Slowly but surely! Hope you doing well😎@@BradWatanabe
Love this, change is super hard and scary, but is necessary. Life is change. I’ve been busier than ever, helping my family. It’s so weird, the money part really had me scared, and I’m still getting it figured out…but I think God just makes a path for you if you follow what he’s calling you to do. Anyways, I saw how your key motivation in life began to change when Eli came. I remember telling Josh, “Yeah, 4 years ago, Brad never ever ever would take a day off or leave early.” But I could see the work-life balance scale start tipping more towards life than work. I remember our first trip and I was telling you how much I wish I was at home, and you thought it was just me being homesick…but when you have a young kid at home, especially with the first kid, every hour or day you’re away from them feels like you’re missing them growing up. I’m really happy knowing that you’re really making the effort to create those systems, and training the right people, so you can make that time for you and your family…that’s something that not all parents do, like with my parents who mostly choose work. I actually used to really wonder if you’d be one of those kind of absent, work always comes first kinds of dad. But you actually really made a lot of changes, hard changes that I’ve seen you struggle through, in order to make that time and I’m really proud of you for that. Just wanted to say. Anyways, so many good memories and lessons, in the past and in the future as well! I’ll see ya at the next shoot!
Mahalo Mana 🤙🏽 Food stuff B, I will say I am teh a-hole in the bunch because I will always say "Stress" is self inflicted. After almost dying from a stroke I don't stress the small stuff that people who've never lost freak out over. I don't set undue expectations. I don't place my personal self value in the minds of others. I don't chase rewards for satisfaction and approval. I know my purpose. This makes life hella smooth.
Wow this is crazy, the irony of how different cultures intertwined and meet up in different facets, virtually or in person. I just lost my mom July and it has been really difficult. Just like yourself doc, I was able to at least show my mom what I might know of certain topics like accessibility for example. It is really special to me and a blessing, that at least my mom understood where my beginnings were. She was proud of me being on air with oh, and in that same facet, it was really what you said their, brought everything into focus like a camera lens. I feel, my moments for my journey which has just barely started, even if it's going to be in the space of creation or something completely different. The fact of the journey in itself. With our family and also the loss of our family. It's almost like I felt my mom is with me at times like that too, and just I think the irony here becomes that it's very similar to all, our parents want militant to us, but they wanted us to work hard at our craft and to work hard to serve others as well. Since, giving selfless help to others to make them a better person or Creator or whatever you want to fill in the blank. It just makes this conversation that much more interesting and it really hit home for me. Thank you so much for always allowing the audience ⁰ to connect with you as human beans and to always inspire! Cheers!
So stoked to hear that this resonated with you Hershi. Talks about family always have a much more universal connection to people than we often realize. Thank you for sharing. More conversations coming soon.
Nope. We've tried using rear NDs with this set, and they won't work. the rear portion of the lens protrudes too much. My only gripe about these lenses.
@@BradWatanabe really? The Rangers that I saw at a demo last year could fit the canon 0.71x speedbooster, as well as the Meike rear VND - these was with the Ranger’s EF mount. Looks like your rear ND is Revolva/PL? So perhaps the PL mount protrudes?
We're able to do pretty well matching these with some of our Sigma Art glass. Sigma is going to be a little more contrasty, but that's pretty resolvable in post. Mahalo!
I've never actually gotten my hands on the Fujinon lenses, but I do see the similarities. It's just amazing how compact Laowa was able to get these FF lenses.
It's a combination of things, but it's based on a top handle from SmallRig which has a horizontal 15mm rod mount built in. I have a short 15mm that connects to another piece by smallrig that is a 15mm connector to shotgun mic holder. Keeps everything nice and tight. I'll add links to the description above.
@@KleberEleven it's a custom cable by Mutiny (5-pin to mini) but it doesn't look like it's on their page anymore: mutiny.store/ Recently, I've picked up this cable from Amazon which seems to work pretty well: a.co/d/9t70t4l Let me know if one of them works out
Hi Brad. Thanks for adding this info. I have a win about the chip. Does the Tokina lens being third party affect its ability to communicate with the camera? Or is it 100% compatible? Thank you
I actually ended up doing the upgrade to Dragon X, but recently sold the kit when I upgraded systems to V-Raptor. What kind of stuff do you plan to shoot with it?
I don’t really have a full rig, but accessories are a mix of smallrig and Red components. The shotgun is a simple Rode VideoMic NTG which is surprisingly great for an on-camera solution. I love the audio level knob on the back.
