Thank you so much for sharing this information Hugo! Deeply appreciated. We are part of an HOA and the best I have been able to do as a board member to date is share and disseminate all information made available as the other board directors have concerns over liability issues if we form a volunteer group.

Lespidisa.... Of course now conservation departments say it’s an invasive harmful species after all those years of saying it was “great for wildlife”

I am from Arkansas and my grandparents grew black walnuts for decades, but didn't grow enough to sell so we ended up eating them on our farm. I love black walnut ice cream and have eaten plenty of it down through the years. I heard about your company through a video produced by a Michigan man. It talked about the black walnuts produced in Missouri and I enjoyed that.

In ontario we have vast water supply so our fire ranger crews get deployed with power pumps and back packs of 38mm nylon hose and work up the flanks they usually use the shovels and polaskis for mop up it's interesting to see how other crews operate thanks

Great info. I have a youtube channel on my small scale logging operations and fishing. I always try to do what is best for the land. You have some great info but there is one thing... clear cutting large areas is not except-able. I have been in the woods for 40 years and select cutting the trees and leaving at least 30 percent of the trees on every acres. this is actually good for the remaining stand. P.S. I honour the “paying it forward” craze where the purpose is to increase everybody’s subscription by subscribing to each others channel. I subscribed to your channel and will subscribe to anyones channel that comments “paying it forward” on any of my videos and subscribes to my channel. Pass it on. Take care Ray

*Stop* fighting forest fires. People should make houses out of things which will not burn and should make defensible space around their houses. Fires can start from inside a house too from electrical issues, gas leaks, smoking, and idiots messing with lighters and matches. Forests fires do kill ticks and recycle nutrients into soil.

Could I use this video in a College presentation? I am introducing forestry and forest management as the topic of my career presentation.

Fescue and clover, really? You planted a cow pasture. Why are you not using native tall prairie grasses and forbes in your replanting?

No action will allow nature to balance itself like it has for thousands and millions of years. Long before humans started thinking they are smart enough to "manage" nature. These insecticides do far more harm to man and nature than the moths! Now they are spraying this crap over urban areas! They say this crap is safe. There is no such thing as a safe insecticide! They say bacillus effects only caterpillars -- IT DOSE NOT! This bacteria is related to the anthrax bacteria. All bacteria is capable of mutating and attacking more than just one life form.

Great video. I'm from the UK so we really don't usually have wildfires on the scale of the USA. We do have grass, heath and smaller forest fires. With the recent fatalities at Yarnell (RIP hotshots) it is interesting to see how they would have worked etc.

I wish you'd had more discussion about this. About how thermal inversions are created and sustained by wildfires wherein the fire on the ground moves like an undercurrent. Potentially horiz. tornatic events happen above like a giant cap turning the weather making machine. We could use these effects against the fire as discussed in my video. See my page.

Wildfires that we respond to typically are handled by our personnel and equipment. Large fires do happen though, such as a very large one in east Tennessee in 2000. When that happens, a federal resource order is requested and crews from all over are called in. Keep your quals up-to-date and your name on the list. We hope that we can handle most situations, and typically we do, but wildfire danger can get very ugly under the right conditions, and we need folks like you to be ready for the call.

I spent part of my summer and fall in R1 as a contract faller. I am from TN and wonder why there's never any calls for fallers down here. If you hear of a need send me a message in youtube!

The leaf blower also works good to blow grass fires back on themselves, that's what we use ours for.
