Hello new subscriber, Could you do like an in depth what to bring to the hospital? I’m due dec 24th and having complications so they think I won’t last that long so I am trying to get everything done as soon as I can. New mom here so any help is nice
This is pretty much how I deal with period pain so I guess I have some practice. Anytime I had cramps I just imagined my uterus doing its job of shedding the lining. And it almost made the pain feel good, and reassuring that my body was working the way it should. I guess I can use the same mantra I used then during labor, “yeah, get it all out!”
i agree, i dont think sleep training is so black and white for every person. you really have to know yourself and your baby because it may not be needed or great for everyone. But, of all the babies i nannied over 10 years before becoming a nurse, the babies that were sleep trained at the appropriate times ended up seeming so much happier and more energetic during the day to meet the milestones they needed. it was amazing to me and totally changed my perspective on sleep training. I think people that judge it so harshly haven't done enough research on it to understand what the realistic methods and expectations of it are, they're going off their minimal knowledge to make those opinions
I respect just being a woman is not easy I have severe menstrual pains every month I am divorced but want to be a mother but I am definitely a beggar poor thrashed orphan
So encouraging and such an amazing video. I’m also very stubborn and driven when people say/imply I can’t do something - I’m 28 weeks and starting to prepare because I want to go unmedicated, mostly because I want to be in control and in tune with my body. This video was so reassuring for me, thank you for all this positivity and information ❤️
Thanks for your thoughtfulness Alliy. I do miss your videos, but I know you’re doing what is right! I’ve felt a connection with you because I live in NOCO, and your kids are like 1 year older than mine so I got to see what your experience would be right before I entered each new stage. Take care and best to you! ❤️
Sterilizing bottles and things before you give birth is pointless. While well intentioned, It will not still be sterile after you put it away when it comes into contact with particles in your cupboard and even just the air so if you actually need sterile bottles you should sterilize them the same day you plan to use them. That said, most babies dont need sterile bottles anyways unless they are premature or otherwise immunocompromised but i just wanted to put that out there that they will still accumulate germs just sitting there in the meantime.
I CANNOT believe someone told you you should give up your baby…that is WILD. Thank you for this video. In the thick of the 4 month sleep regression and super validating to hear your thoughts on the TCB’s 3-4 month ebook because it’s…not working.
You are the best mom for your baby, no one can tell you otherwise 🥰 Truly, the best gift you can give to your baby is to help them learn how to sleep independently, my baby is now 6 weeks old and I also took Cara’s courses ❤️ Still learning and it gets better every day 🥰
I definitely had a cascade of interventions and i had a spinal headache which was the most painful and stressful part of my entire experience and i got to 5cm laboring on my own at home. My baby is 13 months and I'm newly pregnant and highly considering going without the epidural this time.
@@AlliyScott thank you for the encouragement! It feels like yesterday I was having my one year old so when I got that positive one of the first things that went through my head was how tough it was last time and how I don't want to do it that way again. Videos like yours are super encouraging though so thank you ❤️
You can 100% rest during contractions!! This part is actually funny and I never heard about it, but I remember falling asleep during those 2 min breaks (I was at 7cm, no epidural ) and my husband was panicking asking if I was ok bc I was snoring and falling asleep so fast after a surge came. He thought I was passing out and I told him I was fine that I was tired and to stop waking me up 😂😂
As an RN/ lactation counselor, I 100% understand the idea behind sharing breast milk. But what I always tell people is that it’s best when shared between closer friends or family if you can’t get it from a milk bank which I know can be a hassle. The biggest concerns with getting milk from a stranger online is that you don’t really know what’s in that milk, if it’s real breast milk, how good that person was at being cleanly while pumping/packaging and also that persons health history regarding HIV. It can just be really sketchy and these things need to be considered for the safety of your baby
Ive only just found your youtube channel and I'm so glad because your videos are so lovely and refreshing to watch. Im sad there arent anymore coming up but im enjoying working my way through the ones you have already put up! Wishing you all the best ❤
I'm 38 weeks with my 4th baby, and she has a PAC and I have to switch from a home birth to a hospital birth, and I'm just trying to prepare mentally for this switch of plans.
⚠️stack your freezer! I was so occupied with my newborn for 7 weeks! I never imagined i would be this out 👀 first 3 weeks i couldn't do anything. Then my time was still 99% occupied by my baby. Cooking didn't happen😮💨 For the next baby i will have everything ready. You said you don't know what to make, so here are a few options: Bolognese sauce. You can eat or with pasta or vegetables. Chili con came Meatballs with tomato sauce Curry - Meat dishes with gravy (I'm German so you probably don't know them) Soups You can cook rice once a week and then only re-heat it
Thank you for being soooo real and honest! This is so rare in this day and age. I respect you so much for your decision and think you’re doing the best thing for you and your family ❤️
For becoming a first time mom and due next month this is really helpful cause this is exactly what I want to do for my first pregnancy ❤️ and this is a really helpful video thankyou for posting your opinions and being helpful much appreciated ❤
For my second pregnancy, my sister camped out on my couch for 3 weeks, just so my older daughter was being taken care of, and because of Braxton hicks, we didn't know when I would be in labor. So thankful ❤❤❤
22:56 thank you for your honest thoughts. I am dealing with same thing and totally relate to you. This video helped me a lot to prioritize bf vs pumping and just trust my body.
