To be fair post WW2 Europe was destined to be vassals states to either the USA or Russian dominance. The Americans leapfrogged the Europeans in economic, political, military and cultural power. US is a big land area, borders 2 oceans, large population, and wealthy in natural resources. But despite all of that Europe could have still kept their identity and uniqueness (Like other US vassals Japan South Korea and Singapore for example) but now Europe is basically Miniature America clones.
