I had to fix my ASO value that would not operate correctly: 1) Make SURE you understand the IN & OUT ports and hook up the lines correctly to ASO valve. 2) Use ONLY hard lines to interconnect (dont use clear lines from home depot, they are too soft and value wont shutoff correctly). 3) Keep all hard tube lengths to ASO value as short as possible. 4) On all connections make sure the tubes push all the way down 5) On all post carbon filters, post filters, etc...dont plug directly into these filters, first always use a push in connector then push your tube into those connectors. I did all above and fixed my ASO value RO system operation.
This valve does not have any electrical connections like a high pressure switch so really very confused how can it shut of an RO booster pump or this is only for non electric systems?
I installed one of these and it wasn't working. I found out either the check valve wasn't working or the system I installed didn't have one. The shutoff valve would just vibrate and let waste water to pass even though my tank was full. I happen to have a separate check valve that I was able to install and it solved the issue. On my system I have it filling a barrel with a float valve and not a pressure tank, this may have been the reason it wasn't working.
wtdash 1 second ago After draining, I connected the bike pump and after pumping it up to about 10psi (not sure what the tank's internal bladder can handle) 5-6 times the water keeps flowing. -Yes I've confirmed the INcoming water is turned Off. Just keep adding pressure til it stops draining? Thanks
A solid lock carbon filter is far more effective. Granulated carbon filters are known to develop 'channeling' which allows water to flow through the filter without being treated.
I didn't know I needed this tool when I ordered the seal and spacer kit. After many failed attempts at stuffing them into the valve them using my fingers, I figured out another way to do it. I put the retaining clip on the piston shaft and then pushed the shaft as far as it will go into the end cap. Then I held it vertically upside down, and stacked all of the seals and spacers over the piston and resting on top of the end cap. Still holding it upside down, I took the valve body and placed it over the piston and then pushed the piston into the valve body as far as I could. It should go almost all the way in. Then I screwed it down and it pulled it in the rest of the way.
cool. ......i get the general idea of using the piston and the end plug in place of the speical tool but i have a few questions. what "retaining clip" are you referring to when you say "I put the retaining clip on the piston shaft"? looking at part schemtic i don't see a "retaining clip"? what do you screw down when you say "Then I screwed it down and it pulled it in the rest of the way."? any assistance is much appreciated. thanks!
Sorry, I made a typo. I should've said I removed the retaining clip from the opposite end of the piston shaft where it connects to the arm of the motor so that I could place the end on the workbench.
*Works very well>>>**t.co/dNLU9Y7F19** only have had for about 2 months so far, we’ll see how often I have to change filter, have not changed any yet.*
Thanks for good tips. I have 2 ro systems. On one system the ASOV opens almost immidiately when a cup of water is drawn from tank and we love this way. On the other system, ASOV doesn't open until about 1 gal of water is drawn from ro faucet. We don't like this way because the output pressure is weak for a long period of time. Please let me know what is the normal on/off behavior of ASOV. Thanks in advance
I notice the Pentek P-250 replacement cartridge pack has a warning on the inside of its label, "This product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm."
