We love music here and want to obsess over it! If you agree you're in the right place. I love Soundgarden especially. I've got Muscular Dystrophy and this channel is what I'm able to do, help the channel grow so it can be a paying gig!
i wish i could play guitar bc i have these notes stuck in my head all the time and i even sing them (or ig vocalize to it) when i’m listening to the song
During this you can clearly hear the lisp in his voice, this was recorded in 1998/99 and by that point Layne lost nearly all of his teeth due to heroin, they tried covering up with production but it's still noticeable, dark as hell
This song was about Layne's ex fiance Demri who had not long died from a heart related condition cause by drug use. It is not long after recording this that he became reclusive and retreated from the world until his death. I could be wrong but i believe it was the last straw for him and he gave up fighting at this point due to grief and guilt.
Ah yes I remember when I first heard died and thought to myself IVe never heard this!. Great track.thibk it was on the music box compilation album or something.
Sorry you feel that way. Hard for those guys to not have their friends and bandmates around anymore too. But I don't think changing your name after that is the right approach. Half the band is still there, so it's up to them. If you got Jerry you always have Chains.
You should watch the interview Jerry Cantrell did with Rick Beato. They touch on that some, and that's part of how Jerry feels about it. I'm sure he feels he would be doing Layne a disservice by not continuing the band. Sorry if I sounded snarky. It's always better to be happy for what they gave us and not upset they're gone. You can be sad, but don't wallow in it or you get bitter. It's pretty awesome we still have AiC around, enjoy it while we and the rest of the band are still here.
I meant Abbott brothers. Thought of Vinnie Paul in Pantera and forgot that it isn't their last name. Oh well, I'll see if I can fix it in the RU-vid editor.
Good stuff I learned some good facts like the stuff about mad season reminds me of temple of dogs as a one album band and also the untitled song fact is awesome tnx have a good day
This song is also a great lesson in arranging. Despite being kind of simple it draws you in, then the chorus smacks you in the face with a great vocal hook and layers.
Well they're still out there making good music though. Layne was obviously a big deal, but he was still one guy. I think the idea that the band's soul is gone is based on nostalgia more that anything and that's not fair to the band right now. If there's Jerry there's always Chains.
niestety dopiero w 1995r.
This is why Gen X and generations before rule the music game . No auto tune or backing tracks, no fancy lights and costumes . Just talented craftsman making amazing music ❤️
Pearl Jam got me the confidence to try to sing again. As a Young kid I loved to sing, .... but didn't do for almost 10 years! I was the odd skateborder, cyclist, goalkeeper surfer guy! I never did fit in! Met people with a band, they told me I was too hardcore! And after a while met some people at the gasstation I worked at who didn;t play any instrument,... but are willing to learn! And we formed a band! And we even played accoutic songs! People liked our band! I even did sing with a sigarette in my mouth! Where we practised was also a lot of people from indonesia. And they could play really good. They loved us for being young kids playing our own style! No imitation Nirvana, or Korn! We did our own thing!
