i just watched this movie and it is awful. i love alistair macleans books and i am happy to see that even wikipedia says that "loosely based on Alistair MacLean's 1968 novel" because this piece of shit is a disgrace to maclean. -first of all the acting is just terrible. TERRIBLE. it is so overacted and overdramatic that its sad to watch. -there are so many stupid solutions in the storyline and so many idiotic lines in the script that make it more like a comedy -effects are ridiculous .......simply ridiculous -music is absolute disaster. those jolly little tunes make you feel as if you are watching some silly "funny" cartoon .......not a war movie someone might now say that it was a style at that time and effects where not developed that much but .............year later after this turd .........Alien movie was released. and Alien movie is not overacted or overdramatic. it does not have stupid music. it does not have ridiculous effects. and Alien movie looks absolutely wonderful to watch even today .........38 years later. this piece of shit does not. i feel sad that i even started to watch it. its BAD. its REALLY BAD. just the fact that it has harrison ford in it does not make it any better. ITS SHIT ..............
This was filmed in Yugoslavia, so they had to use whatever tanks (t34/85) they could get on loan from the Yugoslav army. As for the MG42s, they are being used by Partisans, a guerilla force who often relied on captured enemy weapons.
This was 1978. Steven Spielberg already making movies this decade, so he probably laughing his ass off to director of this awful production. Steven problly saying the director of this Force10 movie should take a seminar from Spielberg in filmmaking and on how to make a movie realistic.
The director was Guy Hamilton who had been directing films for 26 years when Force 10 was made. Including Goldfinger and 3 other James bond films, Battle of Britain (1969), Funeral in Berlin (1966) & 11 other films. Force 10 was not his best work. Even Spielberg has had some awful films (1941, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull)
Not in Yugoslavia - Captured T34/85s would be kept on the Russian Front as they were powerful. The occupation forces fighting Partisans would have had to make do with captured French Tanks or obsolete German/Czech tanks
