@@cathysmith8556 I’m sorry they aren’t working for you. Transcripts appear to be a function that RU-vid adds on its own that I have no control over. There aren’t even any settings on my end for controlling whether they appear or not. I looked up how to find them and they appear to be working on my phone so it may hopefully be a temporary RU-vid glitch.
I just want to thank you so much for posting this video!!! I’ve been looking through yt vids tryin to find one to help me learn how to do the shoes and this one is by far THE best video I have found! You did a thorough job in explaining and showing(I am a visual learner) and I appreciate that so much! If I could like the vid a thousand times I would!
This tutorial is amazing but when I was doing the head as I was stuffing the head was flopping a lot I even tried to stuff the neck part again but it wasn’t working❤
I’m glad you liked the tutorial. Unfortunately, it sounds like you still didn’t have sufficient stuffing in your doll and that is causing the head to flop. The doll should feel liked a firm orange. In future dolls, if you’re not confident with the amount of stuffing you have added or want to be extra sure that the neck will support the head, you could add something to support the neck before finishing stuffing the head and closing it up.

Thank you so much for this in-depth review. You have answered all my questions about the book! My main concern was seeing if there were instructions regarding various ways to join the strips and now I know that is not addressed in the book. The idea of crocheting strips of varying patterns is fantastic. I have done this on my own for years but thought a guide might help me perfect my haphazard approach! Thank you again for this great review!
How has nobody commented! I’m making a birthday present for my friend I used your doll tutorial it turned out amazing I’m making theese slippers for itt!❤❤❤
Thank you for the review. I personally would not sew strips together because I don’t like to. I would crochet them together or I would plan strips that had the same stitch count or add a row where I add or delete stitches as needed to set up the next section. It is nice to see the sample blankets - both the color combos and stitch combos.
I'm sorry you're struggling with the kit. The author does have a unique way of writing her patterns that can be tricky to understand for some. I would recommend reaching out to the publisher David and Charles or the author for pattern support. You can find the author on instagram here: instagram.com/sabrina_somers/
This review is fantastic! I recently purchased this book and the companion "Micro Crochet Motifs" book...the sheer number of included designs is incredible and wonderful. But the confusion between UK/US terms is spot on. I pretty comfortable with most types of charts, so this confusion seemed a surprising oversight. Everything else, layout, photographing, charting, as well as Steffi Glaves talent and creativity, is first rate Glad i found this review... I have become a new subscriber
Thank you for taking your time to explain to us how to make this beautiful doll hat. Very well explain. Now my doll have a hat to wear. Thank u soooo much .Really appreciate your great work . Keep it up
Sure, it can be used for overlay mosaic. There are some things to keep in mind though: all the colours in this line have flecks of colours that may disturb your image and you’ll likely want to use 2 very contrasting colours (like the one on the use here) to minimize the appearance of those flecks. I hope this helps
@@TheLoopyLamb Thank you so much! I would like to try Amma cal pattern by Tina with it. Thought Hartwood forest to be main colour, Gisburn forest for the frame, and various colours for the pattern. I really like the yarn 🙂 and those details in it 🙂
I'm making this doll for my special needs niece. I love this doll but I have issues with the eyes being a choking hazard. Can you perhaps do a tutorial on sewn eyes? Idk what to do lol
I do not have a tutorial for crochet eyes however, if you'd like to make them youself, I recommend checking out my how to crochet a flat circle tutorial and using it to make a flat circle using the pattern for single crochet in your preferred eye colour to your desired size.
What size is this Molly doll? I'm learning how to make teddy bear clothes for donation and am using your dolly shorts pattern. Do you have a video or can you make a video on how to make clothes for a teddy bear that is 9" tall? thanks
This doll is 9” tall when crocheted to gauge. Unfortunately I do not have a video for clothing for a bear of that size. As with human clothing, height isn’t the only factor to consider when making doll clothes since all toys are different and all my doll clothes are tailored to that doll’s specific body. You could try them and play with your gauge, yarn weight, etc to see if they will work for your bear
Thank you. I have made 2 different shorts in 2 different yarns and gauges and I think they will work although I don't have the bear to help me try them on. I just thought I'd ask in case you had any. I've realized that depth is important to. You've been informative and helpful. thank you. Your videos are very nice. I'll try the doll one day.
I enjoy listening to your tutorials. You do a great job explaining the process and explaining why you do things a certain way. This method really helps me remember things.
Hello, would you please make a tutorial for a graduation cap and gown for this doll? I finished the doll and i want to dress it with a gown and a cap. Thanks
Very pretty, thanks for sharing. Very nice concept of plant appliques I wouldnt have thought of it. I qas thinking more of 3d plant crochet images are what I would like to make more of.
I haven't done more than one method as I've been satisfied with the results using just one. I can't see using the vinegar and then fabric softener causing many issues but I'd recommend testing it on a swatch just to be safe.
With the feet mine is nearly 2 inches and not 1 1/2 but I have followed everything correctly, I’m wondering if that would be okay when making shorts? They may just be a bit tight idk
The only way to guarantee they fit as expected is to match the gauge. Maintaining the same tension throughout the doll and shorts can help minimize issues but unless you’re checking to make sure the tension is the same (by making a gauge swatch I.e the one built into the foot, before making your shorts) you run a risk of them not fitting.
