I'm a writer and language lover or, essentially, just a girl obsessed with words. 💕🙃
I make videos about the writing life, language learning, and weathering the ups and downs of the creative journey. Expect content revolving around writing and language learning processes, tips, productivity, balance, and motivation. There will also be some vlogs and videos about my personal writing and language adventures.
I believe with my whole heart that it's possible to accomplish great things, and that we can help each other out along our journeys. So keep following your dreams and always believe in the magic of this thing called life. ☺️
I was really lucky when I did this system for the first time and all of my post its (and index cards) fit, just barely, on a trifold poster board so I could literally fold it away between working sessions and have it be out of sight. Very useful video, thanks!
I am analyzing your RU-vid channel. I watch your videos regularly. You are making great videos but you are not getting that viewer according to your videos. As an SEO expert, I understand your videos are not SEO properly Basically, due to not doing SEO, your video does not reach a worldwide audience, due to which the video does not get views, likes, comments, and subscribers to the channel. As an SEO expert, I suggest you SEO your videos properly then your channel will improve a lot.
Learning one language is difficult enough, trying to learn more than one at the same time is almost impossible. You run the very real risk of failing to learn any language.
Thanks that was helpful. I'm currently using a process where I read a chapter, listen to the audiobook chapter while reading and then listen alone. It's really helping me aquire new vocab and also improve my listening skills
Listening to audiobooks to improve the target language while walking outside on a bright day works much better than working at a desk with a book and pencil. I think that walking has an effect that allows neurons to easily and naturally make connections between what we listen to as an audiobook in the target language and the knowledge we already have or have acquired.
Hi ! Thanks ! When I learn languages, I use guided meditations and body scan. I compare music with languages too and you give me a new idea : listen to musicians interviews (for example in German with Ivry Gitlis). And dancers... why not ?🎉❤😊
Lovely video, definitely something I am going to do. Will definitely have to bear in mind that as a dyslexic I have issues with certain colours, so red, orange and yellow post it's are useless for me...
I am very new to learning Portuguese , how does reading words that I have no idea what they mean help ? I do this with Brazilian song lyrics ( Sertanejo ) does that have the same effect ?
I´m Felipe, from Brazil. That was excelentes tips, and definitely i will try. I have been studying English and russian, because i really wanna read Dostoyevsky and Tolstoy in original language. By the way, I'm sorry for the poor writing, I'm trying not use the translater. Bom trabalho, espero que consiga dominar o português.
muito obrigada, Kristin!! I haven't seen any of your videos before but seeing the bookcase behind you made me feel like you might recommend resources that fit my learning style as an avid reader and writer. looking forward to checking out more of your videos.
Good advice and suggestions from you, Kristin, about how to proceed when you're stuck writing. When I write my next piece, I will keep your tips handy.
I saw it first on an Instagram post by one of my favorite authors, Mariana Zapata. But it was Sara Cannon on her Hearts Breathing channel where I learned more about it. I don't see many others talking about it so it's great to come across this video. Thank you.
✔ As a Brazilian Portuguese native and language teacher I must say Portuguese is kind of a difficult language to learn. So, for those who want to learn Portuguese (Brazilian or Portuguese) fast your seat belts 😃
This Japanese from Zero book series, I have all the books already purchased. I am not starting right now on Japanese as I am learning other langs. But these books really really look good to me.
I would like to add brazilian tv shows or novelas to your list. There is a lot out there. Avenida Brasil for examle, but many more. I feel it's more practical or sustainable train by listening to tv shows or movies. I've yet to read a book in brazilian portuese though, I think it would do me good too.
How much progress can you make from just grammar books and reading? I feel like comprehensible input, listening to the português is very important. Pimsleur is better for complete beginners since you are getting that portguese audio. You can read on the side.
I think you can make a lot of progress, cos to make the written words more close to the spoken words, portuguese has had many international agreements, the last one dating from the 90's, so basically if you can read you can speak, the rest is just putting some words in context.
Enche meu coração de alegria ver outras pessoas aprendendo essa língua tão linda e tão rica que é o português, principalmente o brasileiro. Amo minha terra, amo meu povo, amo minha língua materna, amo os sons do meu Brasil <3
Great information and thanks for sharing. How do you suggest that a language learner track their progress? How can you determine how much vocabulary you've learned exactly? Thanks for your input.
