Adventures with Nimby "Nathan LaBrie" A large mix bag of topics I enjoy and want to share with you! Motovlogs, rides on my Honda CT 90 "Fluffbut", Metal detecting, Local history, Bush-craft and survival, Running fitness, Tech of all kinds, Retro Games, MMORPG's, Fly tying, Fishing, Fly Fishing and anything else I find interesting as I head through life.
I picked up a '74 in ok shape about a month ago. Cleaned the carb, set points, bought a battery and kicked it to life. Running better each time l ride it. Have since gotten a new carb. I named it Dreamsicle.
I've been really enjoying your channel. I just bought a CT110 1981 with some electrical issues. Seems like we live close by. Would love to connect with you to ask you a few questions. Thinking about converting the bike from 6v to 12v. Thanks.
I don't use cell/smartphones (never really needed one) but I did have a Tracfone that I use for emergencies. It has good coverage, though I've never tried it out in the woods or mountains before. Great survival story. Having a bear follow you with an injured person has got to be pretty terrifying. I'm getting hungry just hearing about the pierogis. I'd say you were definitely chased by the bear, but maybe more along the lines of being stalked, or hunted.
Good thing bears aren't aggressive road hunters, unless of course you run by one up close. Beautiful area you're riding through. How hard are the roads to ride on? I'd imagine riding through there on a moonless night would be pitch black.
I've recently bought a '73 Mars Orange Honda CT90 w/ 3306 mi., all original. They come with the "possibility" of having blinkers. It has the handlebar switch and 'W'winker in speedometer. No turn signal indicators and flasher relay. I bought those, '74 handlebars & taillight assy with indicators attached. And 6v flasher relay. I noticed where the flasher relay is on your bike. Is there a hole in the body where the relay sits? And I hope the main harness has enough space(plug ins) to be able to hook up turn signal wires? 🤔
i have one of these as well, but the batteries never charge fully (green light) i have seen in another YT video that you can change the lenses for a far better light spread for general cycling (the light is far too concentrated in the centre for my liking). the light fully disassembles.
That was a great Vlog. Holy crap that Bear was , I guess, stalking you. Shoot that’s a long way to follow. I guess like you said he was waiting for the right moment to come along. That’s nuts.
Wow that was quite the adventure, I couldn’t imagine staying so calm with a bear that close fallowing me, happy it ran off when you turned on your lights, yikes ❤️💃😍
Bears do weird stuff....I've seen the aftermath of one going through a travel trailer. Like literally THROUGH it. I also thought you meant the little furry wagging thing, not the "tale" hahahaha Cheers, man. Love the view coming back over Padova :)
That's good to know about the spot. I was thinking of getting one for myself, but if it looses signal when you need it most, kinda defeats the propose of having it. Love the story my friend. It's almost like that bear was guiding you back to you truck...making sure no other critters would grab you. Next summer I need to get out there and do some camping and exploring out in your neck of the woods. Be safe brother.
I have a 750 ACE....but am thinking of finding a CT90-110 just so I can do little fun back road micro adventures like this. Only, well in lower South West Ontario we don't have the same views. And less bears.
Back in my teens on my buddies farm. We were chased by the bull into the storm shelter his father had made. The bull trapped is on their for what seemed like forever.
