Wow this is exactly how our family cooks cassava leaves 🇸🇱🇸🇱 but we substitute the palm oil with coconut oil. this was on point🔥🔥. Cassava leaves is da best
Hi, I’m Ivorian. This looks very good and very delicious, but it is not what we call “Garba” . Garba is made with fried tuna fish, and you have to coat it with flour and salt before frying it.
Heyy, I’ve always cooked with okra but it’s feasible if you want without it. Just add more peanut butter (not too much though otherwise your stew will be too thick). Also, without the okra, the stew won’t taste as flavorful or have that smooth texture it typically does with the okra.
Thank you so much Dalinda for your amazing recipes! I tried the Moringa version and it was absolutely DELICIOUS! I loved it so much, it became my favorite!!! I learned how to cook Cassava leaves stew from a Guinean friend and since then it became a part of the meals I cook at home. Much love from a Senegalese sister🫶🏾
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the Moringa recipe and that it’s become a favorite! Cassava leaves stew is such a wonderful dish with rich flavors! Sending love and happy cooking vibes from one sister to another♥️
Hi, I'm pretty sure that vegetable oil would make a great substitute. Sometimes I mix it(just a little bit) with palm oil while cooking spinach (but never cooked by itself though). Let me know how it goes for you!
My parents are Fulas from Guinea Conakry, but settled in Sierra Leone. I came back from Sierra Leone few weeks ago. Guess what, I had this everyday as breakfast. Can’t wait to go back in December. I will add the extra seasonings you mentioned.
Heyy👋🏽I’m pretty sure you’re referring to the type of rice? If yes, you can buy the parboiled rice from Walmart (“great value”long grain) or the one from "Par Excellence" (that’s the brand name). They both great, but since I shop in bulk I usually get the "Par Excellence". Hope this answered your question 😊
I had the privilege to eat a Sierra Leone type potato leaves stew, must be the most exotic and fascinating dish i've ever had . I had seconds 4 times, tasty like heaven. Merci pour la recette et bisous aux Guinéens :)
