My family bought this land, cleared it, and built the cottage by hand back in the 70s. That's some of our original furniture still in there... We had so many memories here. Will forever miss it.
a good decor rule to follow.. which apparently nobody does.. is using your own line of sight, in order to hang things on the wall. So using your standing line of sight to hang pictures and photos.. making it easier and natural for the eye to follow. But when you're sitting.. that's when your electronics are supposed to be no higher then your sitting line of sight. And it's going to cause some problems for people.. how they gotta crick their necks.. to gander at the tv, sitting at the top of the wall. People will begin to have shoulder, neck, spinal pain and think it's related to their pillow but its just the decor in their house... all fkd up because people do not know what they're doing when they're making a home, functional.
I love all the wood, the wood stove and fireplace. The brick wall (backside of the fireplace, or something else?) as well as the brick around the fireplace really helps break things up and creates interest. The view of the lake is great.
